Being Michael Jordan has not influenced one person to sign to any of his teams yet but several players wear his shoes and don't even get paid to do so cause they like the brand. So I say it's the shoes not the dude at this point that captivates the players.

There was various angles that came with that signing if you have a bit more than an 5th grade education i'm sure you could think of a couple of angles yourself that would make sense for someone that already has money to take 80k less smarty pants.
Still doesn't change the fact that it's more than disrespectful and a bit of a bitch move to whine about your paycheck after signing on the dotted line.

I could see a team offering 7 mil for like 3 years. The Bobcats won't have to pay more to keep him though, they have the option to match. They probably would match that because, who are we going to get to come in as a free agent. The most likely way this plays out is DJ plays a year on the qo for the bobcats next year and then leaves when another team offers him 3 years 18 mil.

If he wants a long deal I would give that to him if he would take a discount. Five years 25 mil is probably pretty fair given the season he just had. We are the only team that can offer five years which would be the max I think.

@sweed Who is whining about a paycheck? Man I never took you for a dumb ass but What the hell are you talking about? Who is whining? I pointed out reasons why it made sense to accept 40k. Never once did I say it was a problem. Hell I didn't even bring the shoe deal shit in the conversation. I was just letting you know it's not fucking mega bucks like ya'll may think. WTF are you talking about whining?

This much seems clear: DJ wants to play somewhere else and he's not going to help us a whole lot for the next couple of years. Clearly, we don't need to be paying big money to the guy.

Seems like we don't need to spending a whole lot of time arguing over the guy's attitude or situation. The only real discussion seems to be if we can get anything for him, which seems highly unlikely.
    SOMEONE will pay for THIS!

This horrible excuse for English and total lack of class doesn't even deserve a response.

$5-6mil per sounds about right for what he could do with some more talent around him, which hopefully we'll be getting through the draft & possibly free agency. But anything more than that then, I agree, let him sign elsewhere.

Off topic but had dream last night . Just hear this out .
We got A DAVIS , We traded Smack and the 31 to move up and took Barnes . We then signed Marc Gasol , and OJ Mayo , Jameison. The next year we cut TT , Diop , Carroll, and signed Seth Curry
    Curry Kemba,
    Hendo , Mayo, R Williams
    Barnes , Jameison , Maggs
    A Davis , MULLY ,Jamison
    M Gasol . , Mully

I thinkwe could do some damage with that lineup'
