Keep Brown...he'll be cheap and he gave us more positive than negative, which is saying a lot for any player this past season.
I wouldn't even offer a contract to White. He's one of those low BBIQ players that we need to stay away from.
What to do with thease two guys ?
1st Ill state my thoughts on Brown . I like the kid but hes not a natural s/f and hes to small to play the power . A player who might do well on the end of some bench . Because he can play both positions some but neither well.
My position is we got to cut him let him walk .
With Maggs one more year and the need for a vetran [Jamison ] and one of our two picks a s/f It shouldn't any need for Brown .
THOUGHTS
DJ White . Its this simple if we draft the unibrow Davis . White is a waste on this team . If we don't land the first pick and draft a s/f im still all most sure we draft one with our second pick . If not then we sign J Thompson or a Hickson type . The way i see it . Its no need to bring either player back
THOUGHTS
Thanks Ammofan!

Hope Resurrected: "I think I can bring an attitude to a team as far as, ‘All right, no matter what, we are not losing this game'." - Kemba Walker
"Its okay to be bad; just so long as you're bad ass." - Keetch
get rid of both of them
Keep Brown. He has heart and a lot of room for improvement/willingness to work. He played harder than most of our roster did this year. Jamison is a pf, so if we do bring him in he wouldnt take time away from UPS.
DJW can go. I'll miss him but he isn't what we need right now.
I would keep UPS but don't make a longtime commitment though. As far as DJW, we can cut him, if we don't get AD, we probably end up with a PF or C, then we still have TT (which would be hard to unload) and Mullens. So White can go.
I think Cho views each player, contract and draft pick as an asset. I know that's a stretch, but even Diop's contract will be a trade asset this upcoming season. Cho will use all those assets to bring in more assets, hopefully via getting additional trade picks.
Even if we get the #1 pick, it's important that we don't make stupid knee jerk trades (Thomas, Diop) or over-pay for free agents, including our own (Okafor, Thomas) this summer. This summer is going to sink some teams with the CBA unless the economy somehow recovers big time and the NBA revenues increase by double digits.
All the players that are free agents, even restricted free agents, are expecting/comparing their worth to contracts that have been signed in the past to comparable players. Problem is, with flat revenue, a comparable contract should be at least 12-15% lower. I know Cho understands this, hopefully MJ listens, and this time around, I think MJ will.
Great point BlockParty.
It will be interesting seeing how contracts are offered and constructed this offseason. There's a strong possibility the cap will go down after next season because of the new CBA. I think the GMs of teams are planning for that and the market for free agents will be pretty soft.
I think a lot of players will be pissed and end up accepting less than they are expecting because of the weak market.
As far as Brown & White- I would not offer either anything over the minimum. Both players could be replaced by almost any other NBA journeyman and we wouldn't miss a beat.
Both are Benchwarmers.
Agree with most that we let DJW walk and keep UPS. Brown will be nothing more than a bench spark, but he gives it his all out there and is one of those rotational guys that you would have to find on the free agency market or via the draft. As long as the price is fair, keep Brown. As for Maggs, I could care less if he's out there at the 3. I view him as the SF version of Jason Richardson, in that he isn't a cornerstone piece, but he will fill in the blanks. He'll drop 30/7 and take the team on his back for a short stretch, and then he'll disappear for a longer stretch, picking up ticky-tack fouls and hurting your team. Since we aren't leaving the top-5 of the draft next year anyway, no need to search out a SF this off-season. I'm guessing we find our SF in the draft next year or on the FA market once all of the garbage contracts come off between now and next summer.
