    Default Trading Down

I know this has been discussed a lot but if we don't pull the #1 pick tomorrow, would Portland or NO be a serious potential trading partner?

If we get the #2 pick and assuming Portland and NO don't move up or down in the lottery...

#2 overall and next year's Portland pick (back to them) for #6 and #11 this year?

    #2 overall and #31 overall to Portland for #6, #11 and #41?

#2 overall and next years Portland pick to NO for #4 and #10?

I don't know the interest from Portland and NO but I would do any of these 3 deals in a heartbeat. Your thoughts?

Honestly, I don't think I would want to trade out of the top 4 this year. For me it's.....

    Unibrow
    ----------
    MKG
    Beal
    Drummond
    Robinson
    -------------
    The rest of the lottery

I'm not saying that the value at 6-13 is that much above 2-5, but I think we'd be trading Chris Paul for Felton and May in this reverse sense of the draft. We are devoid of talent and have several holes to fill, but for me, we need quality over quantity. The only deal I would do would be the last one that got us the 4th & 10th pick. Two top-10 talents and one of the 2nd tier players.

Yeah I would also be opposed to trading back. I wouldnt mind trading next years Portand pick back to them in some sort of deal as next years draft is weak. What about Portland's 2013 pick and a 2nd rounder for this years 11? I dont see Portland being that great next year, so they may go down the tanking route and want that pick. I would prefer 11 this year rather than 7-11 next year for sure. Portland might want to take the gamble though and try to be as bad as top 4 or 5 next year if they own their pick

i have a feeling that come draft day everyone on here as well as espn etc will be entertaining the fake "is drummond maybe the best prospect in the draft?" debate. he is going to be the clear cut #2 after workouts and draft camps. if we get top 3 we are assured either drummond, beal or the brow.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to get another lottery pick without giving up our 1st this year, I just don't think it is very likely. Hopefully, I am proved wrong.

if we trade back with the 2nd pick and manage to get Andre Drummond and PJ3 I will be over the moon, uber athletic front court of the future with Bis, Drummond and PJ3

As for moving up, I'm hoping more for us using our 2nd round pick or toss some cash at a team in the late teens to get Moe Harkless. He's "my guy" in this draft that I really want in a 'Cats uniform. If not Harkless, then Quincy Miller or Jeffery Taylor. I feel like with our first pick we'll either hit our big man with AD or Drummond, and then try to fill our wing position with a second pick in the top-20. If we can get away with just cash and retain our 2nd round pick, we can snag a back-up PG with our 2nd rounder.

CP3 was an ELITE player in college. Cant even compare him to MKG, Beal, Drummond. Someone might could make a case for Robinson but they are still not on the same level.

Pretty much its AD and the rest. There isnt much if any fall off after the 2nd pick. So 3 - 30 will be all solid players. Id put Robinson at 2 because he produced in college and is athletic as heck so id say he is clearly the deserving number 2 pick.

If we dont get number 1 pick id def trade for 2 first round picks.

if we don't get AD it is my opinion that we absolutely must take a gamble on drummond.

Dont trade out. That sounds simple but we should just take the pick that we get and go with the BPA. They dont have to contribute right out the gate but contribute at some point when we finally get that title contender.
