Getting ready for Prometheus I went back and watched the 1st Alien movie. You can see alot of the back story for Prometheus when they find that Alien ship.

Watched The Tree of Life a couple nights ago and it was insanely good. Can't say I'd recommend it to anyone here because it is a highly devisive film but its take on spirtuality and the relationship between God and humanity resonates completely with me. Still, even if you don't like the subject matter, it is a gorgeous film and cinematography at its highest.

Just finished watching We Need to Talk About Kevin. Very twisted, very good, and very very well directed. A really unique take on the mother/son dynamic with some fucked up results.

Went to see Prometheus last night. Solid but nothing spectacular...but that's to be expected. Not enough creepy moments for me (a la Alien or even Aliens) but it was definitely entertaining.

I was disappointed with Prometheus, There were a couple of really ridiculous parts that made it difficult to suspend belied.

Recently went through The Mummy Trilogy.
Absolute classics, O'Connell and Johnathan being hilarious at times.
Rachel Weisz...hot damn that woman is lovely.
If you haven't watched it, get in on it.
Funny, nice action scenes and all-round just being a fun movie to watch.

I kind of claim there is no 3rd movie though because no Weisz in the 3rd, although I also watched it and it was rather meh. So stick with the first 2 movies.

wow thats actually the first "love" I've seen for Tree of Life. might have to check it now with that ringing endorsement.

bummed that Prometheus is getting such bad reviews. still going to see it with an open mind, but such high expectations usually ruin every movie (I call it the CineLebron theory) . Like I can pretty much tell you how the early reviews of Dark Knight Rises will be.
It may be an awesome movie, but people will have such ridiculously high expectations, that they will have to be disappointed.
