I gotta say that yes i'm in shock, but some of you are really making me sick. You don't know if this guy is good or bad.Did you know who scotty brooks was when the thunder hired him?And stop calling jordan cheap! He hired vincent under johnson's budget and we've been trying to clear cap room this past year.Anybody that understands jordan knows that he is too competitive not to do what it takes to win.I'm trusting that this was a cho hire. And if you guys are really gonna be big enough babies to cancel your season tickets just because they didn't hire "your guy" then do the rest of us a favor and get the fuck off this board too and find another team to root for.God knows, there's enough negativity around here anyway.Your's won't be missed!

Personally I disagree, coaches make a bigger difference than people give them credit for making. Look at the Spurs, Celtics and Thunder. Without their great coaches there is no way they are as successful as they were this season (or any of the past ones). Coaches have a huge impact on how a player develops over the course of his career and help teach players how to win. Players bring the talent and the skill sets, it's the coach that help maximize all that they bring to the table.

As a paying customer of a product you are entitled to hold that product to a certain quality, and if the product you are paying for doesn't meet the quality you are willing to pay for it, then why pay for it?

I don't think I saw anyone say they were going to stop being fans, that they were simply unwilling to fork over a good amount of money to a team , until they see the team make some improvement, nothing wrong with that.

Look at this situation for a moment. How can this guy fail? He's a smart tactician, a workaholic and is no nonsense. He won't be outsmarted or outworked. He probably won't even be measured by wins. He'll be measured by development of players and how they progress. My biggest question is can he get guys like Thomas to play to potential and will he develop Biyombo and "rookie x" to be solid NBA players. I think that is precisely why he was hired.

If he loses the Thomas battle and the team doesn't buy into his system and mantra, then it's a failure. From things i've read, he's got a quirky personality. NBA is much different than college in this respect. You can't be a Tom Coughlin or Bobby Knight-type of coach in the NBA, and I fear that is what Dunlap will be.

This guy was brought in to teach them how to crawl.

Don't worry so much about what others think...worry more about whether the guy coming in can develop our talent. Even if Dunlap is known for it at a lesser level if he gets Grgurich on his staff then our guys will have the best chance of any other team of getting the most out of them.

Maybe having that hook is what got Dunlap in over Snyder. It'd certainly hold some weight if I was doing the hiring.

    Grgurich is a MAJOR get.

One other aspect to consider are Cho's comments about hiring a coach that wants to be here. There's a strong possibility both Shaw and Snyder didn't exuberant the amount of commitment Dunlap did (particularly Shaw). While I don't think level of commitment should be the one deciding factor in hiring a coach, I think its something to consider.

You guys are acting like he was selected with the Bobcats #2 draft pick or something.. its gonna be ok. He has been an NBA assistant plus has over 30 years of coaching experience. Give the man a chance, damn... i mean, they are 7-59..it's not like he's about to inherit a dynasty. I felt this way when they hired Silas, someone who had an entire career of failure.. someone who never gave a damn. One thing im willing to guarantee, they will have a better record than last year
