I think a lot of people were drinking the Shaw kool-aid. If he was really that great, he would have coached the Lakers when Phil left. When Kobe's endorsement isn't enough to get you the job, there are some serious questions about your ability to be a great head coach.

Exactly. Which is why, like I mentioned earlier in the thread, when Sloan got impatient and backed out, had I known Dunlap was in contention with Shaw and Snyder, I'd easily have gone Dunlap. Shaw could go on to be a great coach but his triangle background worries me, especially here, plus, like you say, if a Kobe endorsement isn't enough for Buss, that speaks volumes.

i think Dunlap will have a hige effect on our young roster and get them playing hard every minute of every game !
