He said in his interview that he'll only make suggestions if he's asked, adding that professional scouts know a lot more about these guys than coaches that only see the players once a year. When he was hired, the FO and him were on the same page in terms of what kind of team they wanted to construct. My guess is that he'll offer insights from those workouts, but the FO will make the final decision.

You mean we aren't gonna pass up on Brook Lopez this time?

TBH I'm thrilled with everything I've seen from Dunlap so far. He's intelligent, energetic, and not egotistical at all. First coach we've had that qualifies for even two of those.

Yeah, he seems like a guy who gets to work. He's asking a lot of the players, but he seems to be modeling the intensity himself. I'm a fan.

Smoke screen?.... " hey fellas picking 3-6. Bradley Beal looking awfully good right now. Just what the Bobcats need. But of course if you wanted him too, we could work that out for you"

Could be. It could also be working with Kemba, Henderson, Carroll, etc. on being better shooters and attempting more threes. As I mentioned in one of the draft threads, I'm guessing we go after a few short term players to round out the roster; one of them will likely be a 3 point specialist, hopefully younger and more athletic than Carroll.

Don't forget that we signed Reggie Williams last year. He came into the season recovering from knee surgery. I think with more time to heal and totally recover, he can be that 3 point ace we need. I can still see them picking up someone else though.

Reggie is in the last year of his 2-year deal and he was shopped at the deadline last year. Wouldn't be surprised if he's gone to a contender around the deadline this year. Even with that, we need more than one 3-point guy, especially if Kemba is going to be our PG. A 3 point threat helps space the floor for post offense, as well as penetration. Think JJ Barea with Dallas - no way he penetrates the way he does at his size without shooters on the arc ready for the kickout.
