Default Why no Bobcats license plate?

As some of you know I just moved to the area. Well, I was looking at NC specialized license plates to see what my Charlotte Bobcats plate would look like but I couldn't find one on the NCDOT website (https://edmv-sp.dot.state.nc.us/sp/S...eType=EXP&fM=Y).

Yet, I could find specialized plates for 'shag dancing' and 'watermelon'. Yup...a specialized plate for watermelon.

Can somebody please tell me that the Bobcats plate is simply missing from the website for some reason. The Panthers, Hurricanes, and even Durham Bulls have specialized plates.

From what I know of specialized plates, it requires that you, the organization filing for the plates, fill out a form and have a list of 200 or so people indicating they will buy said plate.

The Bobcats organization has either no interest in having a plate, or has done some research and found that there was not enough interest. My guess is the former.

Those are different; those are for decoration. The plates the OP is talking about are ones with numbers/letters on them that are identified by law and are renewed annually.

NC, as well as some other states, only require a license plate on the rear of the vehicle. This leaves an open space to use a 'vanity plate' in the front, which is what you'll see on retails sites.

My wife's vehicle used to have the personalized plate RUFUSRDE, we named our dog Rufus, and he rode in the vehicle a lot. Then when day some guy waved, had me roll down the window and said..."dude, what does your plate stand for?? R U F'ed Up?" from the RUFU...anyway...now her plate reads ROLNBCAT after the Rollin' Bobcats

    Thanks for the reply.

Sure is a shame if that is the case, which it probably is.

...I'm not getting a 'shag dancing' plate now, I can say that much lol

There are no Bobcat license plates because the main DMV is in Raleigh, where no one knows who the Bobcats are.

Also because that ugly ass orange logo would NOT look good on anyones car.
