Can't wait for the tourny. We will see who's really worth a #1 pick. Shoot, the tourny made Derrick Williams get drafted 2nd haha
BRING BACK THE BUZZ 2014 ANDREW WIGGINS TAKEOVER
Trny means little to me. These guys will not all of a sudden develop skills they dont have nor will they grow in size or athleticism.

From a skill set of standpoint no, but you do get to see people against a good level of opposition. For example Gonzaga have breezed past everyon due to their easy conference, where as in the trny the second round they will probably face Pitts. Olynk Vs Steve Adams is a great match up and it will be interesting to see how Olynk matches up to someone his size with good defensive abilities. It also shows how people handle pressure and if they can execute in the crunch.
So the trny is useful, also a large majority of the prospects are in the same place so it helps out scouts.

all that is true, but it still comes secondary after skill set and athletic ability.
if olynk uses his skills wisely there is no way for adams to guard him. he can hit him with the j, drive past him, hook shot, ect.
trny is good for show casing ur abilities to a much bigger audience, but for people that have been following the team all year, wont be anything to new imo
Here is an example though of where if you struggle to play on the big stage, it can effect you in the NBA. Look at Vandy last year, Fetsus Ezeli, Jeff Taylor and John Jenkins. There are 3 guys who got drafted last year and if my memory serves be right they got knocked out in the first or second round last year. Now none of these guys have had particuarly successful rookie campaigns, nobody is talking about them around the league. I am sure you have seen Jeff out there at times looking like a deer in headlights, questioning himself. I know, and I am sure you do as well that Jeff has the ability to be a very good players in this league due to his shooting stroke, athleticism, defensive abilities. Now I have no doubt that all three of those guys are going to be good NBA players as they are all good prospects IMO, but all I am saying is how prospect perform in the tournament can give off a sign to the speed which they adjust to the NBA.
Maybe I am wrong, but can you see what I am trying to get at?

You cant really use the Vandy guys as they are not being put in a position to "shine".
None are starting or getting starting minutes. (could be wrong as i havent checked)
Taylor has looked on par or better than MKG at times, when MKG was a main player for the national champions.
I wouldnt put a lot of stock into the trny. At the end of the day they still have the same strengths and weaknesses they had prior to the trny.
I agree that their skill set doesnt change in the tourney, that is obvious... But moving on, I believe you can use those vandy kids.
Why haven't they got the chance? GSW has had Bogut out all year and Beadrins playing like trash. I can assure you if Ezeli has started 39/66 games this year and is averaging over two fouls in 14 minutes with a shooting percentage of .420 which is terrible for a bigman. He has had about as much of as a chance as anyone but has not stepped up.
John Jenkins has been down at the D league on assignment, why has he not got his chance? He simply has been too bad defensively so they have been going for Stevenson,
Jeff Taylor- Not sure there are too many second round picks getting as many minutes as him right now, in fact I just checked and he is averaging 20.2 minutes a game, the msot out of any second rounder and more than probably the 1st (Perry Jones, Miles Plumlee, Tony Wroten, Moultire, Cunningham

We can't speculate on why they havent gotten a chance. we can only roll with what we know for sure. Which is they are not put in a position to shine.
Ezeli wasnt known for scoring or offense. And he sucked at blocks or rebounds (cant remb which one in college) He wouldnt do good regardless.
Give Jenkins a green light and starter minutes and I would bet money he would put up some nice points for a rookie.
2nd round or not, Taylor isnt getting starter minutes and def is not one of our options offensively. Give him more minutes and designed plays and he would be playing even better than he has been.
I go back to the Taylor and MKG comparison in regards to the trny. Taylor has look as good and even better than MKG at times.
Why? Its because Taylor is a nice well rounded player. Every team can use a guy like him. MKG on the other hand has a glaring weakness (jumpshot) which causes him some trouble.
I could design plays for Diop and he would look play better... Okay, maybe thats a stretch
