It was a good idea to try and get a convo started but I know just from past experience you can't get anyone here to defend that nonsense. People need affordable healthcare. Plain and simple. Honestly we needed the public option to force prices down and create competition with the insurance companies. But the right wing doesn't want anyone to have anything that they deem as free. And that alone amazes me, because they wrap themselves in the bible and American flag. The ultimate type of hypocrites are people who say they walk in the foot steps of Jesus then vote to cut millions of dollars going to food stamps and try to start wars with everyone. The type of people who try to out law gay marriage and abortion but then claim the Gov needs to stay out of the doctors office and out of my home and personal life Honestly it's about time the supreme court did something right and not right wing.

it's probably nota great idea to get into an online political debate here. what i will say is that if Romney/republicans want to repeal obamacare, then at the same time they have to march into Massachusetts and repeal romneycare in that state. all of the principles they object to in the latter are contained in the former. they have to either repeal both, or leave both alone.

eh, republicans cling to state's rights as an excuse for nearly everything

I'm completely out of the loop on that, and I'm far too lazy to google it today. What's the cliff's notes version of what is happening with that?

As for the AHCA: It's a laudable act that every Christian in this country should think about before criticizing it...Jesus would've been in favor of it. But because the "liberal Democrats" are responsible for introducing it, it must be some horrible communist thing. There are some issues with it, and I think it was rushed through, but overall I see no issue with the basis for it.

As for the UN Arms Treaty, it wont affect the U.S. because there's no way in hell Congress would make it into our own law.
