Agreed. If he can improve that shot to where it doesn't have that hitch in it, then the NBA needs to watch out.
Last night I watched the New Years Eve - Kentucky v. Louisville basketball game that Kentucky won 69-62. Watching MKG play in that game I believe that was a true glimpse into his ability to dominate a game.
MKG scored 24 points and grabbed 19 rebounds. To get those 24 points he was relentless attacking the basket in the halfcourt which led to 13 free throw attempts. He also shot 2-4 from the three point line in that game.
The other really impressive thing Kidd-Gilchrist did was on the defensive side of the ball guarding Louisville's PG-SG-SF-PF at various times during the game shutting all of them down.
After I watched that game I watched the SLAM Online workout of MKG and watched him shoot a bunch of jumpers. Most of the jumpers he took never hit the rim. Now I know it's a highlight tape but when you can knockdown 5+ 18-22 foot jumpers without the ball touching the rim you are a capable shooter. Now I know a lot of people are knocking his form on his jump shot but there are plenty of players with awful form that turned themselves into knockdown shooters due to repitition. I give examples of Matt Bonner (push shot), Kevin Martin (wrist cross), Michael Redd (cock back and throw) Derek Fisher (ball cocked over his shoulder), Shawn Marion (the push - shot 40% from 3 in 2 seasons) and Reggie Miller (hideous cross armed). Sportscience did a feature on Reggie Millers jump shot and how terrible his form was.
The fact is you don't have to have great form to be able to knockdown jumpers. You just have to be able to find something that works for you, work hard enough so that you can repeat it, and have the confidence to make it. I think MKG has all of those attributes and will make a lot of doubters look very foolish.
When I watch him play and with his hustle and work ethic along with his natural talent he just oozes 21 pts 8 rbs 5 asts 2 stls per game over a 6-8 year period in the prime of his career. But one thing for certain is barring a terrible injury MKG will be a solid NBA player for 10+ years and will make his way into multiple All-Star games and it would not surprise me if he wins a Defensive Player of the Year in his career.
Enough Said!

I'm reminded of the great Lee Trevino. Terrible swing, but he made it work.
SOMEONE will pay for THIS!
he his a confident shooter which impresses me and he hits quite a few 18 foot jump shots. i think he his going to be a special player in the NBA becasue just having talent isn't enough, you need work ethic and this guy has got that.

I can't wait to see Gilly in his 1st game with the Bobcats. I think he is going to make a living at the ft line. He'll be relentless going to the basket.
