When I try to tell my kids that I grew up in a world that didn't have cell phones or the internet, they look at me like I must be a bazillion years old.
Last winter I worked at a seasonal job working with groups of volunteers from all around the country. I had a group of teenagers come to my work area and they were all wearing "GMC" shirts. I asked what that meant and was told it stood for Greer Middle College, which was their high school. And immediately I was like, "PLEASE tell me your track team is called Run-GMC". They all stood at me blankly...some of them said "I don't get it."
Got any good instant-geezer moments?
Just hip-hop in general. When people don't know Public Enemy or the Wu Tang Clan or Onyx, I feel like I might as be listening to big band music.

The instant need for sports scores...back in they day, you had to wait for the newspaper to get the prior day's box scores (that's assuming it wasn't a late west-coast game, which meant waiting an additional day).
If you wanted to play sports w/ another person, you had to actually go play the sport, not on XBox, Wii, PS3, etc.
I don't remember as a kid thinking that professional athletes were overpaid, how much they were paid wasn't even discussed much.

Discipline: my middle school principal would hand his 6 inch knife to a student in trouble, tell them to go out in the back of the school to the Spruce tree and cut off a good switch for their whooping.
