interested to see how he does in dunlaps system...I think he could score 20 ppg or close to that in this system
I have seen many post and some threads debating whether Hendo has reached his potential and wont be nothing more than an average guy. I stated last year it should have been his year. I like Hendo but he needs to step up now or face being labeled an average player, a good defender, a sixth man or a role player on a good team. Since he and UPS are the next up as far as team draft picks, is it time to trade him (instead of letting him walk) or keep him as a role player or sixth man.

It's wait and see on Hendo. There are reasons to believe he'll be an all-star and reasons to believe he's a career journeyman. A lot is going to depend on how he develops with Dunlap and what advances he makes in his shooting.
SOMEONE will pay for THIS!
I view Hendo has a SOLID role player / 6th man.
He just doesnt have the scorers mentality and skills to be an All Star 20+ppg player. (at present)
I think he'll be a star. He pretty much lost a year of development due to Larry Brown and his opposition to playing rookies. He wanted to send Hendo to the D-League and Jordan said no.
He also lost a summer to work on his game last year b/c of a) hip surgery and b) the lockout. I know he said he worked on some aspects of his game that he could while recovering.
He's only gotten better every year and he knows each summer what he needs to work on to improve his game. I think the style Dunlap wants to run will play to Henderson's strengths and you'll see even more improvement this year.
Will he be an All-Star this year? It's possible but I do think in the next year or two he will be.

I think this is a conversation for next off season.Larry brown never played him and he lost alot of time to develop his game last off season because of the surgery. When he did come back we had a shortened season and a coach who was asleep @ the wheel. He has all the physical tools and a coach with a system that suits him now.Averaging 15.1 points a game without having consistent coaching or an off season last year is nothing to sneeze at but we won't really know what we have until after this year.Until then i think we would just be speculating.I will say this though. He has the potential to be an all star, but i don't think he'll ever be in the conversation of being a "super star".No matter what he does this year, if we can get shabazz muhammed to pair with mkg, i would still ship him out in 2 seconds.

Guys, i know you think highly of "Hendo" but he has honestly reached his ceiling. He is a 6th man masquerading as a starter. If i had anything to do with it, he would be traded. Some ppl on this site act as if he is the perfect centerpiece of a rebuilding franchise, but he is not. He has had plenty of time to develop and improve.. this is as good as it gets. Time for some real firepowerin this lineup, consistent mediocrity is getting stale.

I think we give Henderson a full year as a starter to see how he does, I forgot about his summer off with an injury last year.
I totally agree with Westbrook08 on both things you said, Last year was a terrible year to judge a players development we had awful coaching, the team was completely lost and had no direction. Under new coaching, more competition within positions and players needing to prove themselves, this season will be a good indicator as to whether Henderson shows enough to warrant a new contract.
Id still trade his ass to get a top sg in next years draft that can shoot a 3!!!

I think henderson is definitely a starter quality 2 in the league.I think the real question is does he ever become more than an average starter and blossom into an all-star?
