I don't think Tolliver is targeted because of all those years he spent in the NBA. I believe the main reason to bring him to Charlotte is to help stretch the offence, and allow kemba and hendo to get to the basket more often.
I feel the same way. Given what's left, I'd be fine with Tolliver. He has 3-pt range (though not the best ever last year) and may benefit from the type of basketball Dunlap intends to play.
Also, he pretty much nailed the reasoning when he talked about the uncertainty of rookies vs vet players. Tyrus and Byron certainly aren't rookies, but I think they both have enough question marks that it'd be wise to get a vet at that spot so you have an idea of what to expect.
He's looking for around 2 million a year per Hoopshype, also a 1-2 year deal which fits into the master plan:
http://hoopshype.com/rumors/tag/Anthony_Tolliver
Charlotte Hornets - 1987-2002 - RIP
Charlotte Bobcats - 2004-Forever
Bobcats Fan 4 Life!
I'd do more than 2 years if it was as low as 2 million per year. That's not a big risk.
We can only go to 2.6 million, but regardless after seeing what we're paying Taylor I expect the FO to negotiate the best deal possible for us.
Edit:
If we could get him for no higher than 1.9 million it can be covered under the bi-annual exception...leaving the full 2.575 million room exception to play with later. Since they can't be combined I'd push hard for that being my best offer.

Yi is a 3, not a 4.And he sucks.Alot! I'd rather bring back dj white.Has troy murphy signed anywhere? I'd like him for the right price.I just don't like the idea of bringing in a guy like tolliver who's not gonna be here long term.We need to find out what we have in mully and see if tyrus has anything left. It's not worth taking away minutes for a journeyman.
Yi is definitely a power forward.
In Cho I Trust
I can understand thinking Yi sucks, that's personal opinion and he's certainly no All Star, but to call him a small forward? That's slander I say!
