Default The 2012 Presidential Election Thread

I realize that creating this thread is opening up a potential gigantic can of worms, but I'm curious to find out how long we here at BCP will be able to discuss Obama/Biden -vs- Romney/Ryan without the conversation devolving into name calling and personal attacks.

    So here goes:
    - What are your opinions on our presidential and vice presidential candidates?
    - Do you feel particularly strongly about either side?
    - Have the campaigns so far been too dirty?
    - Has the injection of private money into the election process been a good thing or is it something that undermines the democratic process?

i wouldn't vote for obama if he were running against my left shoe. i am not thrilled with romney but at this point i think he offers us the longest time until the eventual collapse of the country. i need the time to get my family positioned to try and ride it out and come out on the other side.

for all the conservative folks talking themselves into romney of the two candidates only one has enacted gun bans. hint: it is not obama.
for all the conservative folks thrilled with paul ryan: of all four men on the two tickets, all four were for the $17 trillion TARP program and bank handouts around the world.

to me the choice taking it in the ass with and without lube. romney offers lube. either way we are taking it in the ass.

I'm curious, did you feel like this during the Bush years, or was it just since Obama took office?

not really but for good reason. bush's 1st term, i was 20-24 basically a know-it-all college moron. i was a liberal because that is what you are supposed to be. i started to actually pay attention for the '04 election and figured out that liberalism is moronic. it wasn't until the end of bush's 2nd term that i realized that republicans are basically big government clowns just for other things. i was against the bush stimulus and TARP. it wasn't until obama's rule that i realized just how dangerous and power hungry the government and financial apparatus is. the final straw was the supreme court's obamacare ruling. i am convinced we are screwed and the only way to regain our liberty is to take it back. and neither party is the answer.

If neither the democrats nor the republicans are the answer, What is the answer?
And how do we take our liberty back?

I'm probably going to write in Ron Paul, if that accounts for much.

And how do we take our liberty back?
Government and Big Business are in each other's back pocket and they control all the money. Something like just under half of Congress are millionaires. And those Wall Street executives took that money and gave themselves huge bonuses. Now they're threatening to take away constitutional rights, passing unconstitutional acts and bills, and otherwise spitting in the face of all Americans and the founding fathers. It's a completely unsustainable system. The only real way is to start over from scratch. Greatly decrease the size and power of the central government and let the middle class thrive again. But do you think they'll let that happen? No way.

As much as I hate to say it, I think the only way to go about saving the country is having the people seize control in a true Revolution.

    It's all shenanigans.

Life's pretty good for most people.

It is funny, in the UK everyone just loves Obama for no other reason than he is black. If you ask anyone about his policies they just stare at you blankly.

In order for people to be motivated enough to do that, I think the economic environment would have to get even worse than the 1930's era depression.

Revolution won't happen until society in general has no income, no roof over their heads and hungry kids with no way to feed them.
