Where the Cats were plotted made me chuckle, also by this logic Ben Gordon, Jeff Taylor and BJ Mullens are going to be amazing pick ups, looking back.
Maybe this belongs in the general NBA section, but I think with Dunlap wanting a more up-tempo game with the 'Cats taking more 3's, I think this article from Tom Ziller explains the ideas behind that strategy. It gets a little math-heavy at one point, so tread lightly if that's not exactly your thing.
Also, don't pay attention to the chart for too long. One data point may cause nightmares.

Yeah, the Cats took bad shots, but made up for it by missing them.
This, along with trying out more SF types, makes me think that this will be an important season for Gerald Henderson's tenure with this team. We know he doesn't make many 3s, but really doesn't take many either. As this study shows, simply taking them is important. It's going to be tough to have a SG who isn't even a threat to even take them. If Taylor plays well, Henderson struggles and a vet SF type is in here, it would make it easier to move Henderson. I think the play of Taylor and Henderson will be as interesting to watch as the Tyrus situation.
