Default im a little late but , why couldn't we had made that bynum trade .

like 2 months ago i posted a bynum thread and got bashed . just type in bynum in the search box and you will see all the crazy remarks , which baffled me . bynum isn't worth the trouble or the money ? or i wouldn't trade our youth for bynum, but bynum is 24? or simply he's not that good cause he's had one productive year. the whole world has the 76ers pegged to make deep playoff run and even in the near future a title run , but noooo we bobcat fans didn't get the memo that an all-star maybe an even a superstar center can automatically make any team a playoff contender. even though we didn't get him it showed where alot of ppl basketball IQ was at as far as logical moves or chances that should of been taking. the 76ers traded iggy and he's worth more than some of our young players(if packaged). so if the whole world can see the logic in obtaining bynum ,why couldn't have we . and that brings up the bigger question , do half of ya really know what ya talking about , and i don't bash nobody's opinion but i have had plenty of mines bashed , and im ok with that because i enjoy the forum and others remarks .

I would have been all for bringing Bynum to Charlotte. But we dont have any idea what transpired in the FO. We may have approached the teams involved and been told No Thanks. Then again, they could have thought that with our past track record, they could have fleeced us and been demanding too much. Just no way to know. But I do think that since Cho would have been involved, he would have made no move that would have been against our interests. So I am fine with what we have done.

I don't doubt that Bynum is probably the second best center in the league right now and I know really don't remember those threads but I will telling you we would have to give up too much for him. Many of here love the direction we are headed, and to dismantle the roster to trade for Bynum would be ridiculous cuz we could not field a team around him to get to the playoffs. Basically, we have no stars to trade, Philly had Iggy. Plus Bynum is a little of a head-case and there would probably be no guarantee of him extending if he came here too. If he would have walked after one season and we gave up alot to get him, it would have been mutiny.

the direction we are heading is good but i felt we could leaped frog'd our weak division(besides the heat). if the magic accepted affalo, we could of gave up walker or biz. honestly the 76rs roster really isn't that good, doug collins out coached alot of teams.we had alot to offer whether we traded diop's contract, walker and/or biz,our 1st rounders. we could of been players. now would have had bynum resigned?he haven't signed a contract wit philly yet . charlotte is one of the biggest sports cities , and growing cities ,so why couldn't we endorsed bynum? its worked for cam and others.

our started lineup could of been

    sessions
    hendo
    mkg
    tyrus or mullens
    bynum

    6th man gordon

    76ers lineup

    holiday
    young or richardson
    turner
    hawes
    bynum

    6th t.young

i think our starting lineup could of been better and if not, not to far from it

Not half...just Swedd. That boy don't have a clue.

Seriously, I didn't check on the previous thread...but you can't discount the games he's missed during injury, his immaturity and his salary. He could be high reward but there's plenty of risk taking him on as well. He also cost a LOT...Lakers got back Dwight Howard in pretty much a straight up swap. The Sixers just had to give up Iggy (who I think is very retail for what he brings), but that gets chalked up to being in the right place at the right time.

If you did get bashed for ideas I can understand you wanting to point this out now...but everyone here is an amateur GM and they're only voicing opinions.

ok, just for shits and giggles. let's say we were involved and got bynum. what praytell would the trade have been. we have nothing to give except for draft picks and diop's contract. so what would have been the three or four teamer that would have gotten it done?

Honestly, I find it funny that this git (are the English members giggling?) thinks the reason Chomiggins didn't trade for Bynum is because we didn't like his proposal

If we traded for Bynum he would just leave us next year in FA. We are not as far along in development as the 76ers and Bynum would just go elsewhere. Also MJ is trying to fill the team with high character guys, great work ethic. Bynum doesn't fit into that and would clash with MJ. GIT, you really know how to rub people up the wrong way, telling people they don't know what there talking about. Try mind your own business and not telling everyone else what's up. Who the are you? A nobody, that's who, so pipe down

    LOL!

Lighten up guys. Geesh. Maybe Denver would have been just as happy for MKG & Gana...who the hell would have thought ORL would have been happy with Affalo as a centerpiece for Howard? Iggy has been thrown in as a reachable talent for MKG and look at all that money they would have saved. Keeping Bynum would probably have been probable for us as well since he most likely will go for the top dollar and we'd have Bird Rights.

I definitely think it's feasible we could have been the 3rd team, but regardless I'm fine having MKG instead of Bynum. I don't trust him to be "the guy" on a team...and at a max deal that's what we'd need out of him. I also don't trust him to stay healthy.
