i have high hopes for ben gordon, as i do all the bobcats players, but honestly he kinda sucked last year (and the 2 years before as well). biz was playing pretty decently over the last month of the season and i'm assuming he has continued to get better.

Eh, you're kind of changing the terms. You started out the 1st thread talking about NBA ranking, which would suggest something like PER (or eFG%, etc.) being the main factor in ranking these guys. To me...and esp. at this pick...that's not the same as their importance/value to the team.

Not a big deal either way tho. At least we're talking about something.

I started out talking about ESPN Rank because that was my inspiration for this project. I wanted to see how they view our guys relative to how we do. The goal is simply to get people's opinion on who they think are the best players, for whatever reason. (and to bring the place back to life a little bit). I think Bismack is the most important player on the team, but that doesn't mean I think he's the best.

Even if you want to keep it similar to their lists, is there any way in the world guys like Kirilenko (79 despite not even playing last year), Omer Asik (99, played less than 15 mpg last year), and Shane Battier (107, averaged 5 and 2 last year) are vastly better than any of our players? Not really. Reputation, hype, and many other factors weigh into why guys are ranked higher. That's why I said I don't think Bismack is the "best" player "in quotes" because a lot of people would say Gordon is better. But a lot of people also think Shane Battier is better.

I don't necessarily agree with what I've seen of their list...but you can see that best player overall (right now) vs. most impact to our situation can be different right? Especially at this selection.

    For me anyway.

Of course I can. I think Bismack is the absolute most important player on the team, but I didn't vote for him at #1.

Hendo isn't nearly as important as MKG, but I voted for him as the best player

Ben Gordon is the best player on the team, period.
