Default Who Should Start For The Bobcats This Season ?

many people on the internet have different opinions on who we should start for the upcoming season, this would be my starting 5:

    Walker
    Henderson
    MKG
    Mullens
    Biyombo

These 5 starters have an average of 21.4 ! and I would start these 5 guys every game of the season !. We need to start with youth and build for the future in the next couple of years and by gaining experience these guys will excel as NBA players.

The difference is that we have alot better bench than last season so instead of Najera, Higgns and Moon coming of the bench we have Sessions, Gordon, Taylor, Tyrus and Haywood getting minutes.

If Tyrus impresses in pre-season i would be tempted to start him at PF becasue he has proven he can be a great player when he puts his mind to it.

I would expect the likes of Gordon and Haywood to get decent minutes off the bench becasue they can impact the game alot with scoring and defending.

Who would be your starters ?

    My starting line-up would be:

    Walker
    Henderson
    Kidd-Gilchrist
    Biyombo
    Haywood

Don't get me wrong, I like Mullens a lot, but I see him more as a specialist and someone who could stretch the floor than a starter, plus his FG% and his FT% were significantly better as a substitute.
Besides that I believe our vision about the line-up is pretty much the same.

    Walker
    Henderson
    Kidd-Gilchrist
    Biyombio
    Haywood

Don't see Mullens ready to start just yet but I can see him taking over later on in the season. PG spot should be Kemba's to lose, same with Biyombio.

The problem with a Walker, Henderson, MKG, Biyombo, Haywood lineup is a complete lack of shooting range.

PG: We need to give Walker the start to find out if he has 'it' at this level. SG: Henderson has improved steadily year-on-year and should be given the chance to continue from the starting position, UNLESS Gordon is comfortably better in the pre-season. SF: MKG starts. PF: For me Mullens has to get the nod. He provides good shooting range and has improved his defence to an almost acceptable level. Also I think Tyrus' shot-blocking prowess will complement Haywood's skill-set well. C: I think match-ups will dictate this position more than any other. Bismack will get the majority of minutes regardless though.

    So for me:

    Walker
    Henderson
    MKG
    Mullens
    Bismack

Still worried by the lack of 3 point threat, but don't see Gordon's D being good enough to start & Taylor isn't going to supplant either MKG or Hendo this year ... though I'm very keen to see him get some minutes at SG this season.

    Sessions
    Gordon
    Kidd-Gilchrist
    Mullins
    Haywood

I would like to see a mix of veterans and youth. This would give 2 scorers (Walker & Henderson) to come off the bench and ignite the team.

    sessions -14pts, 3.5 rebs, 7.2 ast, 1.0 stl
    henderson- 21 pts, 5.1reb, 3.8as,t 1.0 stl, 1 blk
    mkg-13pts 6.5 reb, 2.5 ast, 1.3 stls, 1 blk
    thomas-15.5, 7.8 rebs, 1.5 ast, 1.5 stl, 2.2 blks
    biz-9 pts, 8.5 rebs, 0.8 ast, blks 2.8

    gordon-15pts, 2 rebs,2 ast,0.7stl

i like sessions because he's still young, big, fast, smart, and can shoot. sessions doesn't do nothing great but he's does everything well, and if he can start for the lakers(and they wanted him back starting but he opt out) he can definitely start for the bobcats. i dnt trust kemba as a point guard , i think his style is too erratic ,he cant shoot and he has bad court vision. walkers summer lg was ok ,not great and that was against sub-par talent ,thats enough to show me he isnt ready yet.and its crazy how many ppl are ready to throw a season away just for him to start , kemba at this point isn't a starting nba palyer rite now , i consider him to be a bust cause his game hasn't improve.he may never find his nitch just like johnnie flynn, jared bayless, telfair, and soon jimmer.please he's not a scorer he has a scorers mentality, but i do give him credit that i think he's the fastest, and quickest guard i've seen next to rose.

henderson is going to be all-star player canidate . hendo lost like 5 pounds and is more leaner and fit. hendo may have one of the best mid range games in the lg , also he is an aggressive paint attacker ,and there isn't many players in the lg who can do both . i cant stand when ppl say he's not a good three point shooter, he doesn't need an 3 point shot. d-wade and lebron had their best shooting year without taking 3's this year , so that goes to show . how many good/great scorers shot good from 3?or how many all stars(aside from paul pierce, nash, paul)every year were there that shot good from 3? most 3 point shooters are role players or specialist, and hendo is neither . aside, from scoring hendo is an aggressive defender ,a good rebounder for his position and can get you blocked shots. since hendo will be our scorer and like most scorers they are the primary ball-handlers, his assist numbers will only go up(except melo). gordon is in the role of a tweener , something like terry ,lou williams, or mayo . tweeners are usually situational players not starters because alot of them dnt rebound ,not big enough to guard the avg 2, and don't have court vision . they usually need their own units(play wit other bench players) to be effective.

i see mkg in more of a iggy type player . iggy is a better shooter now but in his early years he was horrid but that wasn't his game , iggy is a player who makes his team better. and i can see mkg scoring off transition but will never avg over 17 points.we don't need mkg to be a scorer ,we need him to add defense, speed, and rebounding.since mkg is a rookie i dnt see our offense going thru him but mkg will be a stat stuffing wing who i can see flirting around a triple-double every game in the future.

thomas gained about 20 pounds on top of a 40 inch vertical which i can see going down to like 37. blake has a 35 inch so i don't see tyrus game slowing down or becoming sluggish.with tyrus gaining weight i can see him being more durable and playing more offensively in the paint . tyrus needs to not rely on his jumper anymore and not to be driving from the 3 point line like a 2-guard. i think tyrus realize that he will have to change his mindset and play bigger so he gained more weight. and one thing about tyrus i dnt think ppl realize is that tyrus is a high volume free throw shooter because he drives alot and the occasional flops. defensively tyrus always played great d and played the passing lanes unlike most bigs, so he will be fine this year . mullens could be our starter but im not sure about him because he is great enough to score 40 pts and grab 12 rebs but bad enough to shoot 3-14 and grab 6 rebounds.

i like biz game and that he knows his role as the enforcer . biz is a great shot-blocker and moves his feet really fast , ive seen him switch on a two-guard and stayed in front of him the whole time. my only problem with biz is he isn't a good rebounder but that can improve but usually rebounding always translate to the nba whether ur paying div-1, juco, or oversees , so he may never be good rebounder. i don't see our bigs averaging big rebound numbers anyway because we have good rebounders at every position .haywood may start but i dnt trust haywoods freethrows but depending how much haywood has left in the tank he could be a game changer.

It's really hard for me to decide whether or not I want Mully or Haywood to start alongside Bismack. I'll probably have a more concrete answer closer to the start of the season but as of now, if I was the coach, I'd trot out this unit as the starters:

    Kemba
    Hendo
    MKG
    Mully
    Bismack

The Power Foward position is the most talked about and there are many options in who could start at the 4. I would give the edge to Mullens at the start of the season becasue we need range in our team and he can hit the 3 ball. Tyrus Thomas has been working out and i hope he comes back with a chip on his shoulder and prove how good of a player he is.

    PG - Sessions
    SG - Gordon
    SF - MKG
    PF - Biyombo
    C - Haywood

I don't love the idea of not starting Hendo or Kemba... but I think Sessions and Gordon are better right now. We want to win, right? I know Kemba and Hendo are our future, but let them learn from some seasoned pros first.
