Surprised I'm the only one who voted Haywood. Also surprised the Viking got two votes (not bad for a 2nd round rookie). Dav or Chuck, care to explain why you went with him over one of the older guys?
Having read the Bonnell article about Tyrus I was really tempted to vote for him here but, for the reasons I outlined in the 6th ranked thread, it's Byron for me. I really believe he's on his way to becoming a very decent starter in this league.

for me this vote was tough.
haywood 2 years ago would have definitely been our best center (and he still might be, i think he is all around better than biz) but he is old and can't really play full starters minutes anymore.
mullens has some elite skills for a 7 footer (shooting in particular but is really needing to improve multiple areas) but is clearly better than everyone except haywood.
tyrus well, i honestly thought of not voting for him until last out of spite. god i hate him as a basketball player and to be honest, his personal life (of what i know) is not all that redeeming either. but, if i had to take an honest look, i think his number is up in two votes.
The kid has a pure shot ,way better on defence than any one left . Artical i read says he can guard 4 positions whitch all ways has a need. A good three , Good handle , can score in trafic and over larger players. I think we will see big contributions from him MKG , and Hendo on the floor at the same time . He reminds me a lot of J Dudley except hes a little better at the same stage. Not questioning MKGs abilitys and starting BUT . Taylor matches up well with him , being worse in a few parts of the game but better in others . Remember though Taylor is three years ahead of MKG in college play. Because he fell to 31st makes some think he has less talent . The kid has late loto talent right now . But staying in school right now seems to put a hit on kids going all four years . Im sure some of thease one and done kids will bust be for Taylor. No hes not a star or number #1 option but i think he will be known as a defencive hawk.
Mully has had three years of the pro game and right now if i had to let one of those two go it would be Mully 100 times out of a houndred. REASON i think his skill set would be a lot easyer to replace than Taylor. Belive me this kid has a natural noze for the ball and you can't teach being a hawk on defence . Thats something a player just has to take pride in .
Thanks Ammofan!
Mullens has got great potential and he showed some of it last season in a few games. I would like him to play in the post more and try and perfect that turnaround jumper from about 7/10 feet

ziggy (10-02-2012)
he might start the first game of the season which i predict. Not many people will be able to defend Mullens from the outside
