extend the QO and look to trade him this season
The Cats have until the end of the month to sign him to an extension or he becomes a RFA. Do you think he'll be extended or let to become a RFA. We don't have a great history of holding on to our guys.

They need to extend his contract, I have a feeling a couple of teams may be interested in him.

I feel he will almost certainly go to RFA. Have we ever re-did a rookie deal before without it going to FA status?

I would thought maybe they viewed Hendo differently.

Isn't Mullens in the same situation?
why the hell would we trade him? The point of a trade is to get better talent. Do you think we're get back a young player with all-star potential who wants be here or a high enough pick to draft a better player than him in that trade? Um, NO! We need to sign hendo to an extension right now before he ever hits any kind of free agency. He's not established enough to command an insane amount of money right now, but if he develops more range from 3 or starts getting more open looks because of us having more talent around him at any point in the next 2 years then his price is gonna go through the roof! From a business standpoint i think it's a no brainer. Whatever we sign him to now should be very tradeable if we hit the jackpot and get shabazz muhammed or andrew wiggins. Or if he takes the next step we still get a steal.
No thanks, let him hit RFA. If he proves himself capable of being anything more than a 4th best player on a good team then talk about it in the offseason. If not, let him go.

i think it is a no brainer to give him a 1 year qualifier, just to be able to trade him as an extend and trade. we wouldn't get a more talented player back, but could either use him to move a bad contract (ideally tyrus) for an expiring or a not good contract that expires next year or we could move him for a draft pick in the range that the detroit and blazers picks are. but i would choose not to extend him long term if i were management.
