Default MKG .. Gerald Wallace... and our future

Despite all the news one could talk about regarding the Cats, I still primarily see the story or how MJ has ruined us over everything else.
The most popular point is that he sent Gerald Wallace away, which ruined the team.
I loved Wallace, he was my favorite player, however my question is this:
From someone who knows more about basketball than me, based on the info we have now, would we be better off for the foreseeable futurd with Crash as our starting SF, or better eith MKG as our committed 3 and draft pick we got for Wallace? Honestly as knowledgable fans of basketball AND the Bobcats, considering MKG did we really downgrade that much for the future?

This is really more of a sports philosophy question than one about the specific exchange. Either you believe that mediocrity is bad and it's better to destroy to rebuild OR you believe you should always try your best, especially if it means retaining the "soul" of the franchise. For most people, I believe you'll like or dislike the Wallace trade depending which side of that aisle you stand.

Also, it's a bit too early to tell what to make of the 1st pick we receive. It definitely seems to me better to retool like we did than risking losing Wallace for nothing or trying to pay him big dollars to be the soul of a team going nowhere.

Suffice to say, I like where we're at right now.
    SOMEONE will pay for THIS!

I know we ended up with a replacement for Crash (hopefully better) but it wasn't a straight up swap. We SUCKED thru last season and MKG is our reward for that. We did bring Cho on board afterward and he's going to get every little bit of value he can out of that poor ass return for Crash...but it was poor nevertheless.

MKG has all the skills and attributes to be equally as good as Wallace and surpass him. He reminds me alot of Wallace in so many different ways

    - very fast for someone over 6ft 7
    - likes attacking the basket
    - gives 110% every game
    - great defender (steals, blocks, pressure defence)

alot of people say he reminds them of Wallace and Pippen, what do you guys think ?

I wonder if MKG will have great 3-point range like Crash now does...

After seeing MKG's outside shot at the game yesterday it will take ALOT of work for him to be a marginal 3-point shooter.

Crash didn't have a 3-point range as well when he entered the league, I even think MKG has a better shooting form if you would compare those two.
