The lack of interior D hurt us a lot in this game. The wizards don't have that many inside threats that is why we did fine. Our teams glaring weakness this year unlike the past seems to be interior D.
I was in attendance for the first game against the Wizards. We got to the line at a good clip, even if we didn't shoot well there, and kept turnovers to a manageable number while creating them. Everyone contributed from close and from long as far as shooting went, and there never seemed to be too weak of a rotation, or lag from starting to relieving.
I did not see the second game, but gleaned from the box score and recaps that it was decidedly different from the first. There seemed to be a gap in the two teams' taken free throws and turnovers, production from 1st to 2nd half, and ability to score inside.
My questions is:
Is the difference a question of rosters? Was the depleted Wizards roster that much less of a challenge, so we only looked in control and talented?
Was there a different allocation of minutes to our players, and an experimentation with rosters tonight that was not there sunday that caused such a seemingly radical change in production?
What happened between the first and second half, and which players in particular were not producing?
Or is it just a combination of things and a "thems the breaks" situation where some games just aren't as good as others?
Between the first game and the second, for someone that followed both, what can we take from the 2 very different examples of Bobcats ball we have seen so far?
Or is it early preseason so get another hobby, and stop hyper-analyzing?

Yeah, it makes me wonder though because looking at Biz's stat line, our boy was doing work! 7pts, 5 rebs, 4 blk, 2 stl, in 21 mins. Yeah, he also had 4 fouls, but I wonder what the context of those were. Was it letting his man get past him and having to foul to stop, or was it helping out a teammate who let his man past him? Looking at +/- looks like Tyrus and Mullens were the culprits in letting AD and Lopez dominate. Also, gotta remember Haywood didn't play.

It seems like Biz has fallen behind in the rotation for some reason. I went to the wizards game and Diop actually got in the game before Biz. I think Biz and Kemba should be starting period. Sessions is averaging 5 turnovers per game and shooting only 38%in the frst two. Kemba is shooting 53% and is playing less min than Sessions. Just seems like Dulap wants to go with the vets, maybe it's just me.
I would assume Dunlap is giving the vets preference in the preseason, making the younger guys "earn" the starting job. That's what a lot of teams, NBA and NFL, do. Just a sign of respect. If this happens in November, then you can be critical.
The less we see of Diop's fat ass on the court, the better we will be.
Although he does have better post D than Mullens, then again not like it's hard to have better post D than Mully.

I think this is it for sure. His problem which hopefully will get better in time is that he doesn't anticipate where he needs to be soon enough, so is in general, late to the spots he needs to be sometimes. On the positive, he is quick, so he does react and takes the strong iniative to play D which most players don't do. Once he starts to react a split second soon that should help, it's one of those things that comes with experience if he works on that.
Biyombo is our best defender !
