You know me Teej, I was arguing the statement "have all guys 20% better than 1 guy 100% better". In real life I agree with you...there's no superstar in the making on the team yet.
What are you studying and how long til it's just work?
I don't think any of these guys are *the* superstar we need. I could be wrong with MKG, but Biz, Kemba, Mullens, etc. are all at best valuable pieces to a winning team, not the reason the team will win. They could be starters deferring to the stars or key backups but I can't see a playoff team having Kemba or Biz as it's best player. So, while waiting for that superstar (or waiting on MKG to get to that level) I'd like to see the core guys get better so that when such superstar does arrive, he won't have to carry the whole team all the time. Make sense?
Not picking on you Dcarnys, but since the great Teej graces us with his presence only sporadically I figured I'd get a quicker response from you or someone else.[/QUOTE]
Hey now. I'm getting me an ed-jew-muh-cay-shun. College + work is a bitch.

Hope Resurrected: "I think I can bring an attitude to a team as far as, ‘All right, no matter what, we are not losing this game'." - Kemba Walker
"Its okay to be bad; just so long as you're bad ass." - Keetch
i think MKG has the potential to be an all star, no doubt about it !. He has got all the talent and he's got the work ethic and dedication which will help him progress in his career.

now that we've been through the whole preseason, I'm fairly confident in saying it is Byron Mullens because I really think he's going to be our first option on offense. How often we win is going to be heavily determined by how consistently we can get 18-20 efficient points, 8+ rebounds, and not have him be a complete pylon on defense. So pretty much I think Dunlap is going to ask him to be an all star caliber player this season. He has the tools and the talent, I just hope he can put it all together mentally
so Mullens for now, MKG for the future
I like Mullins a lot more this season than I did last, but he shoots WAY to much in my opinion. If he's wide open then yea... take the shot but outside that he needs to be reined in. Last season he was shooting all over the place and his percentage is just not good. I would hope his pre-season shot total was just getting him out there and letting him get comfortable. We can't afford to let him shoot 20-25 shots a game as bad as our rebounding is.

Mullens doesn't know the difference between a good shot and a bad shot. He shouldn't be shooting over 20 shots in any game where he doesn't have over 30 points. At this moment, he appears to be our best option on offense, but his prowess has to be carefully evaluated on a game-to-game basis because his basketball IQ is still pretty low.

@ Plowright, I hope you're right. That 25 shot attempts for 16 points game that Mullens had on Friday kind of made me leery.
i would have to say biz. if he doesn't pan out we wasted a draft pick (not saying there was much better out there, i guess it would be klay thompson), but more importantly we passed on drafting drummond with the notion that we were already developing one extreme project and t-rob because we were jammed at pf. that means we passed on 2 people (and the obvious trade downs that we could have done) because of biz.
so far this preseason he has underwhelmed to be kind.
