    Default Sessions v/s Walker

    http://www.charlotteobserver.com/201...lakers-to.html

This had to come sooner or later . Whos the better point guard?

Im going to go with Sessions , I think he will end up after getting to know the team with better assist. Hes got better size . And i think he will sport a better shooting %.

I'm surprised you've given up on Kemba so quickly and I'm doubly surprised you'd want to do a "player vs player" after the Hendo thread.

    But anyways...

Sessions is a subpar defending average PG who has traditionally done better coming off the bench vs. starting. He's better than DJ but that isn't saying much. Just like DJ he was given the keys in MIL and they ended up letting him walk vs paying him. He's very good at driving the ball and has a decent midrange but (except for a small stretch in LA) can't shoot beyond the arc.

He might end up being better than Kemba but his ceiling is pretty much known. Kemba's is not. Since we're striving for something more than a 1st round exit give me the younger guy and let him show what he can be.

I thought Bobcatsplanet could show thair class while discussing a tough subject . The Hendo thread is what made me start this thread. That and waiting on the regular season. Any way ever post i read showed class and thats what Bobcatsplanet is all about . Thank you guys for being a smart knowledgable bunch. Truth be told i havn;t give up on Kemba . Really im in the camp of letting the better player win the position. Both will push each other hard for playing time . It should prove to be a instresting battle.

    Thanks Ammofan!

I think that, as of right now, it's very close. However, as has been said before in this thread, we know with a fair degree of confidence what sort/level of player Sessions is. It is still too early to tell with Kemba. IF Kemba can get his shooting percentages up and improve his distribution of the ball, while his teammates also improve their movement, then he has a chance to be a worthy starting PG. I'm not his biggest fan in terms of style of play, I'd much rather have a genuine distributer at the position, but Kemba does have something about him that makes me think he could become a well balanced offensive player. He absolutely needs the minutes this season so that Cho etc. know what they have in him sooner rather than later.

I think both Kemba and Sessions are great players, but to be honest; I don't believe they're as well suited to be the starting PG as D.J. was. their sealings are probably ten times higher, they may even be playing better right now, but I don't feel as comfortable with either Kemba or Sessions bringing the ball up the court as D.J. did.

DJ is still better than both of them.

from what I saw at the Wizards game and listened to at the other games it seems like Kemba looks more like the veteran than sessions right now. Sessions tries to force things a bit and plays out of control and it shows in his turnover numbers. makes sense though..probably tough for him to go from the Lakers to here and have to adapt to the different pace and less talented teammates.

I'm in the group that thinks Kemba is a lot better than he showed last year but really struggled with the lack of coaching. kemba needs freedom to play to his full potential, but freedom within a system more like Calhoun did for him. Not freedom like Silas did where he acted like it would be a pain in the ass for him to give Kemba some plays to run during the game

I agree that Kemba’s ceiling is much higher than Sessions. Iwould probably split their time and see who takes the job.

Kemba is much more fun to watch.
