In looking at the stats above the number that stands outto me is that Sessions has more then 2x the assists. The point needs to get theteam flowing and assists should be number one. On the other hand Sessions has4x the turnovers as Kemba and the point should also secure the ball. At thispoint I think it is a tossup. So go with the future and start Kemba but they both need to get equal playing time till one of them steps up and takes the bulk of the minutes.

I believe assist is becoming a overrated stat. It's rare & out of the norm that assist leaders are a integral part of modern day championship teams. I've watched Tony Parker win 3 championships averaging just at or under 6 assist per game. To win, all you need is a PG that is a willing distributor and can dictate the tempo of the game at a controlled pace. Continually bashing Kemba for not being Chris Paul should be equivalent to bashing Hendo for not being Dwayne Wade, MKG for not being Kevin Durant, Tyrus for not being Tim Duncan, and Haywood for not being Dwight Howard. I believe Kemba can help this team consistently win games in the future with his effort & skill set. Despite struggling last season during his rookie campaign, you can argue that Kemba was the Bobcats best player based on PER stats. This is only his second season in the league, so he will have his off games. I'm not saying that he will make this team a contender, but for right now, unless he's a unbearable presence on the floor, at least give him a chance to show what he can do.

(insert nodding head smiley that should be an option here)

There are assists and then there are assists. To me a valued assist is when a PG causes a reaction from the defense which opens up a teammate for an easier score. A LOT of guys get assists just passing it around the horn...and since the PG usually has the rock in his hands more than others he will by default get 4-6 assists assuming adequate PT.

The P&R is usually an easier way to get a valued stat if you can a big who can be an adequate partner...but barring that you have to have a guy at PG who can break down his opponent AND be able to see what his mates' defenders are doing as well.

Felton was the best PG we've had so far that could get a "valued" assist IMO. I thought DJ had it in him...he just would never show it consistently.

i don't believe that assist is an overrated stat. sometimes stats don't tell the full story , you have to consider whats the pg's surrounding talent is. in tony parker's case he shared maybe 35% of the teams ball handling duties with manu. manu put up above avg assist numbers for an sg, it would be the concept of placing two scorers on the same team or two rebounders.

my only problem with kemba isn't his talent, i truly want him to succeed but i feel his playing style isn't beneficial for his teammates. its like he looks for his shot first and teammates 2nd . i feel that our team needs a pg w direction ,not making erratic basketball decisions. even though kemba is having a great preseason , feel that sessions is stilll better suited. i think ppl forget how young ,athletic, and good sessions decisions are.

while playing for the bucks he put real crazy numbers in the limited games he played . minne tried to develop flynn but forgot to win games, thus sessions not succeeding .sessions went to cleveland at the same time irving arrived and was able to put real good numbers during kyrie's injury. sessions put up real good numbers wit lakers , but lets be honest? i dnt think many pg's can co-exist with kobe's overbearing personality(interesting how nash will get along), or the lakers lack of pg concern . despite sayin that ,the lakers still wanted sessions back and sessions declined.

if kemba earns his starting job cool but im not for developing kemba at the expense of the teams success , especially if other young players are improving their game . it's like we are holding our team back trying to force kemba into a starter. hendo is improving his game, mullens has vastly improved into maybe our most important player of the season, and with the signing of the vets its looks like we are making playoff push.

Success? LOL we'll be doing damn well if we get 20 wins this year!

During the next couple of seasons success will be defined largely on whether our young players pan out or not.

The only real veteran we signed is Haywood, everybody seems to forget Sessions is just a year older than Henderson.

gm in training i couldnt possibly be on a more different wavelength than you regarding this team its crazy.

in other news, i got a weeklong suspension from a Raptors mod on RealGM for saying "This will go well" in a thread declaring Jonas Valanciunas a future superstar on the Gen Board. I'm kinda mad I'm gonna miss trolling the Pistons fans if we beat them.

swedd...you must troll them double for me, particularly that palace whatever guy. you can do it

    Was it tsherkin?

I've been trolling them ever so subtly. The best part is doing it so they can't refute it. PoP was talking shit about Lillard and I said, "Yeah I don't get all the hype, he's basically nothing but a rich man's Brandon Knight" .... no response

    nah..YuriVaultin or something

    http://forums.realgm.com/boards/view...?f=6&t=1208623

he was particularly determined to make sure everyone recognized the greatness of Jonas Valanciunas even though it was pointless thread with no content, just a blog link. Oh well. 7 day ban for that lol.

Dude nothing would make me happier than beating them tomorrow with Kemba and Bismack(and MKG) outplaying Knight and Drummond. Best part is I believe this game is televised in Detroit so at least we can see them.

Looking at his sig, I'd say he was a Bulls fan. Could be wrong though as I've never paid much attention to him.

He suspended you for the second post I bet lol the first one wasn't bad enough to get that kind of response
