the ONLY reason this game is a sell out in Raleigh is because it's the Heat. Period.

As a season ticketholder, I wouldn't mind losing one game from my package provided it was part of some kind of "trade." For example, we lose a Bobcats game, but we get a Hurricanes game in Charlotte. Even then, a lot would depend on the match-ups. For instance, I wouldn't trade a 'Cats/Heat game for a 'Canes/Winnipeg game. Now 'Cats/Hawks for 'Canes/Rangers? ABSOLUTELY!
I don't believe that. There are tons of college students with duke, carolina, and state around there as well as tons of young singles and business professionals. The triangle is a great hotbed for sports. No one knew if the hurricanes would work there, yet they consistantly have one of the best environments in the NHL. I actually thought that raleigh would have been a better home for the bobcats permanently when we got another expansion team. There's alot of old money and bitterness in charlotte, especially after what happened with shinn. With all the diehard basketball fans and college students in the triangle,i think they'd do great numbers there. And to the guy who was comparing greensboro to the triangle: They are nothing alike. I live in greensboro, and the fans here suck.People only support sports here if it's a really big event and a chance to be seen. There is not a tenth of the enthusiasm here that there is in raleigh. I do agree that if i had season tickets in charlotte, that i would be mad about losing a game or two though.
