Hope Resurrected: "I think I can bring an attitude to a team as far as, ‘All right, no matter what, we are not losing this game'." - Kemba Walker
"Its okay to be bad; just so long as you're bad ass." - Keetch
It wasn't meant as some sort of slight toward Reggie. I like him as a player and was surprised he lasted this long, and I even did him the "honor" of skipping an 11th place vote because he's clearly better than the two wastes of space we have left. The number may very well have been 100%, 95%, or 34%, and it wouldn't have made much difference.
One more time!

Gotta go with Captain Matt on this one. Since neither one brought anything more than gaped-mouth blank stares last year, we're gonna have to go on their history and what they've brought to the Bobcats in their career. And MC wins by a landslide.
My greatest memories of Diop:
For Matt, this is the perfect time to reminisce about the epic battles he had with Kobe during the 2006-07 season.
December 30, 2006, probably the greatest game in Bobcat history - the shaggy haired Carroll dropped 27 points and 8 rebounds in a triple overtime victory over the Lakers, while holding Kobe under 60 points
This night had so many great lines to remember:
And a quote about one of our all time worsts that nobody believed would ever be uttered:Emeka Okafor had 22 points and a career-high 25 rebounds...
Gerald Wallace scored 28...
Matt Carroll added a career-high 27...
Raymond Felton added 22 points and 15 assists
Adam Morrison was held to five points on 1-of-15 shooting...
Then as an encore, the next game, in LA, the Bobcats take it to overtime and beat the Lakers like the doormats they were, with Carroll scoring 24, and holding Kobe to 32 points, a 26 point defensive improvement from the last game!Little-used Bernard Robinson replaced him, and scored four points in the third OT.
"We wanted him to go in for defense, and he ended up giving us a little bit of offense
Carroll banked in a 3 for a 96-93 lead before Okafor scored three points in a row.“Literally a luck shot,” Lakers coach Phil Jackson said.
“Kobe came down and asked me if I called ‘bank’ and I said, ‘Definitely. I had to find a way to get over your long arms,”’ Carroll said. “So I knew it was going in.”Carroll made four in a row from the line to finish the game.Bryant lost the ball on Carroll’s stealWe can never forget such epic tales of a legendary past. Matt Carroll actually having an impact on winning games deserves a statue in front of the Cable Box, versus this:Bryant missed an 18-footer with Carroll in his face.

Gotta go with Diop. Can still rebound and defend..
I can’t believe this. Diop (IMO) was the worst player to put on an NBA uniform last year. Unless he has a unbelievable turn around this year I expect more of the same.

Haha...my post was actually meant to be tongue in cheek, but I guess I can see how it could look like I run the Matt Carroll fan club.
But in all honesty, I'm not really big on Carroll, I actually think neither player belongs in the league anymore. I know people are giving Diop credit for rebounding and defense, but thats more due to the gravitational pull he exerts on smaller objects.
Since neither have any value in the league anymore (unless you count 6 fouls to give in a tough playoff match against Dwight Howard), I'm just going by the memorable moments either had during their career in Charlotte. I literally cannot think of any standout moment or play that Diop has made in four years other than the airballed free throws.
In Carroll's case, he provided a brief glimpse into an alternate universe where the Bobcats swept the Lakers and that he actually contributed to multiple wins and resembled a basketball player at one point in his career. And since it provided us long suffering fans a brief moment in time of happiness, I feel I owe him my solitary vote that he is one spot better than Diop as the not-worst Bobcat, to show my appreciation.
Captain Carroll at least isn't known as the team jokester. I'll take him over Dioppa the Hut.
