Which position is our greatest need?

Everybody saying a post scorer is our biggest need is right on the money. Being able to dump the ball to someone in the post and having them create offense brings balance to the court, and in turn will open up the perimeter game for our guards. A solid post player can manufacture points from the block or off free throws when a game gets tight and the outside shots aren't falling. And if he's good enough to garner an occasional double team, then you get open 3s or wider lanes for drives to the basket.

Indiana transformed into a serious playoff contender once they signed David West, combined with Hibbert's continued post development. Philly was just your basic run of the mill team in the East until they signed a solid post up guy in Brand, and they've since crossed the line into a regular playoff team. The Hawks had talent, but could never turn the corner until they drafted Horford.

Now, there's really no post scorer available, unless we wanna go the Eddy Curry route. May not be such a bad thing to look into, even though he's been a complete failure save for a season or two. But Dunlap could run his ass into shape (or out of town) so it could be a worthy gamble

Dejuan Blair?!? I've been calling for Cho to go after him since the middle of last season. He's not the tallest frontcourt player by a long shot, but he's what the Bobcats are looking for because he can score efficiently in the paint and rebounding is his calling card. The best part about trying to acquire Blair right now is that financially it'd be a low risk, and his quality of play could be a high reward. The scouting report on him offensively is that he showed a bit of a midrange game last season (42.5 percent from 10 feet and beyond) but as usual was incredibly effective in the paint, shooting 64.8 percent in the basket area while taking three quarters of his shots from there. He also ranked third among power forwards in offensive rebound rate, and those second shots helped him average 17.9 points per 40 minutes without having any plays called for him.

I don't think Blair will be nearly as effective without playing alongside a player like Tim Duncan but if he can be had for cheap I'd definitely go at him.

Actually, Blair was most productive and more efficient offensively when Duncan was on the bench.

That's cool but couldn't that also mean that Blair was going up against other team's 2nd units? Plus, his +/- was worse with TD on the bench. (if you weight that stat much, I'm not a huge stats guy).
