SJackson1....i am very surprised by his start...i watched him in college last year and was very impressed with his inteligence on the court / his constant hustle / his ballhawking skills and his ability to get to the basket and to finish strong...but i just wasnt sure if all of that would translate to the NBA...and even if it did i figured it would take him at least a season to get adjusted....last year he was on 1 of the better college basketball teams of the past decade...and with A Davis being the main guy and the 1st option...as well as the other really good players in that starting 5 ..it made me wonder whether MKG was just a product of the system and that maybe he was able to be so effective and to score bc most teams didnt view him as a major threat?..i knew without a doubt that the guy had heart and always gave 100% and was great on the defensive end..i just wasnt sold on his ability to score at the NBA level...so for him to be considered @ the #2pick with all the question marks seemed like a bit of a reach to me...since the draft was a toss up ater Davis it made MKG @ #2 aot easier to swallow bc pretty much every guy 2-10 was a gamble..then to top all of that off the guy was by far the youngest guy in the draft at only 18 years old...so when we drafted him i figured he would be a project and could seriously contribute 2-3 years down the road...now with that being said ...6 games into this young season MKG has totally impressed me ..his defense is as good as advertised...his motor is even more impresive when i get to watch him on a consistnt basis ..his ability to contribute across the board has been amazing...this goes for distributing the ball..blocking shots..getting steals..his work on the boards (his offensive rbding has been amazing )and the most impressive aspect has been his ability to get to the rim and finish on consistent basis..his 1st step is alot quicker then it looks and even though he is skinny he is very powerful around the rim..he knows how to finish..and he knows how to draw fouls and how to take advantage by hitting his free throws at an 85 % clip.....so to answer your question..yes i am very very pleasantly suprised by his start to the season and i think the sky is the limit for this guy...he wil def improve on everything mentioned above as time goes on...but if he can develop a nice little mid range jump shot over the next 2 years then this guy can be deadly....i love the pick and with the emergence of Kemba this year i think we have 2 really good young pieces to build on .

agreed SJack...this time last year we had no hope really....Hendo was our best player..and to me the guy is a decent 2 guard....a solid starter for us right now ...especially with B Gordon as his backup....but IMO Hendo is a very good backup on a very good playoff team..not s starter.....fast forward to this year and we have 2 young guys in Kemba and MKG who with hard work have the chance of being 2 of the best young prospects in the East and potential future all stars....and 2 very very underrated vets in Gordon and Sessions ...and then 2 serviciable bigs in Mully and Haywoo...my how 1 offseason can change things.....i think with Hendo healthy that we have 1 of the better young starting 5's in the east...Kemba / Hendo / MKG / Mully / Haywood is pretty damn solid in my books....and even more important is how solid our bench is...with a bench lineup of Sessions / Gordon / Taylor and Warrick / Biz and Warrick / Biz and Diop.....obviously our bench weakness is our bigs...but with Biz and Diop we have decent players who can take up space and we r very strong at the 1-3 and can get our scoring there..... Diop finally comes off the books after this year and we can use that 8-9 mill on a much much better big man...and we also have additional $$ to spend bc of great cap work by Cho and company.....and to top it off we have 5 1st round picks in the next 3 years ...i know i got a bit off topic but im just excited about our team abd the direction we are headed....

i know its the wrong thread but bad news from Steph Ready on the pre-game.....once again no Ben Gordon tonight.....i know we survived without him last night....but i think its gonna be tough to overcome not having him tonight on the road....we are going to need another big game from Sessions.....at least 15 and 8 from MKG and Taylor really needs to drop 10 + tonight......all i hear is that we keep beating teams who are missing their best players....ie..Indy w/o Granger ...Dallas w/o Dirk and Washington w/o Wall and Nenne...but what they fail to mention is we have been without our leading scorer from last year in Hendo and 1 of our best aquisitions this year in Gordon.....

The first foul was legit, the second fould was a charge by Rudy Gay, the third foul was Mullens playing "defense", the fourth foul was a clean steal and the fifth was an intentional with 27 seconds left.

    The refs really robbed him.
