in 27 minutes he got 13 points, 5 rebs, 5 steals, 1 assist, 1 block. He needs to be playing over 25 mins every game becasue he makes things happen on both ends of the court !!

His minutes will increase, but Dunlap already said he's not going to overplay him early on, and I agree with him. Regardless of talent MKG still needs to adapt to the league, and playing 35+ minutes right out of the gate increases the likelihood of hitting the rookie wall.

Perhaps MJ's comparisons of MKG to Pippen were right. Only thing MKG seems to be lacking is Pippen's ball handling and scoring.

MKGs ballhandling is decent and should get better.

Pippens first 2 years as a 22-23 year old were
    7.6 ppg/3.8reb/2.1 ast/1.2stl/.7 blk in 21mpg
    14.4 ppg/6.1 reb/3.5ast/1.9 stl/.8 blks in 33mpg

I think MKG will have a season somewhere inbetween those numbers except with more rebounds, as a barely 19 year old that would be very impressive.

His impact on our team is already apparent I believe he is far and away our team leader in +/- now granted its only 2 games obviously.

His ballhandling is far more advanced than I thought it'd be. Through only two games, I've seen him beat NBA players to both his right and left. He drives to his weak hand with the same strong first step as he does his right, and that is going to bee invaluable for him as he continues to develop an outside shot.

So refreshing to see a wing actually be able to dribble without fumbling all over himself. CoughHendoCough

From now on I will call Henderson "HINDERson". MKG need perimeter shooters on the court to complement his style of play in which will open up his slashing ability. I did the math, through the first 2 games of the season MKG has only 2 points on 1 for 8 shooting with 0 free throw attempts in the 30 minutes when Hinderson is on the court with him, and 12 points on 4 for 7 shooting with 7 free throw attempts (only 4 made) in the 17 minutes when Hinderson is on the bench.
Too small of a sample size. Fact is, MKG had good attempts on that 1-8. He just wasn't getting calls in night one when he was 1-7 and playing with Henderson.

Oh, and we won with MKG going 1-7 and Hendo taking 14 shots. Bobcats outscored their opponent when they were on the floor together. Probably mostly due to Kemba.

But I will keep my eye on this "MKG shooting poorly alongside Hendo" to see if it turns into a trend. Thank you.

Yeah, I was disappointed with Hendo's ballhandling in game one. In game two he found a niche driving baseline so he only had to worry about a defender from one side. Then the injury.

And I'm more optimistic about MKG now. It would be nice if he could add a little trickery to his offensive game, but at least he fearlessly puts pressure on the defense with his attacks. And offense is not even his strong side of the ball anyway. Encouraged so far.
