If you ignore his choice of outside shooting form, he is one of the smartest just-turned-19-year-old basketball players I have ever seen. He understands what he can and can't do.
He is way smarter than G Wallace at the same stage. Way better ballhandler. Much more intelligent defender. Just not quite the spectacular dunker Wallace was/is.
8'8" length, 7'0" wingspan, good speed, good energy, and basketball intelligence. He has a lot of tools to work with.
The only thing that bugs me is that teams can lay off him on the perimeter. He basically plays hot potato with the ball out there in the half court offense. I would like him to occasionally get into triple threat position and force his defender to work a little bit. Maybe put up a shot-fake and drive in for a floater/runner. Maybe dribble in a bit and force the defender to commit to him, and see what develops. Maybe dribble in and attempt an 18-footer. (NOTE: I did not see the most recent game where he went off)
