    Zoolander,

You are looking at the tape in the wrong light.

You need to look specifically at the skills and athleticism.

Wiggins is 6'8 200 pounds. Dribbles like a guard. Has a nice jumpshot. Athleticism is out of this world. Fast. Can score from anywhere on the court using a vast array of offensive moves.

What guy can you mention had all those attributes in high school? He dominates everyone / every game he plays in. No one is even close to being on his level.

He will play the 3 in the NBA imo.

To your last point, I am also excited to see Shabaz play this year.

Although Id rather has Zeller in the draft. Hard to find true 7fts that are that polished.

Dion Waiters hasn't really impressed me yet. He had 17 points on 43% shooting with 3 steals the other night, but he also has 0 assist and 3 turnovers. That's kind of disappointing to me considering that Waiters is supposed to be a playmaking SG. Anthony Davis, on the other hand played well in his debut considering that he was going up against a future HOF'er in Tim Duncan and took the game to the wire with a team leading 21 points along with 7 rebounds and a block. I was kind of happy to see Thomas Robinson falter in his debut so that I didn't have to read "we should have drafted T-Rob/Thor" comments for the next week or so. Robinson pretty much dropped a dud tonight with just 3 points on 1 of 5 shooting, 3 rebounds, and 3 turnovers in 22 minutes of play.

I also believe that Wiggins is the next big superstar to come out of the draft, and also agree with the comment that everyone can look good on a mix tape. Correct me if I'm wrong though, but I'm pretty sure most of those highlights from that video are against some of the best high school talent in the nation. Andrew Wiggins is dominating at his level. Now hopefully he can succeed on the college and NBA level, which to me, sure looks like he will.

I was impressed and depressed but not with the Hornets game. Watching Damian Lillard in Portland last night, he was very impressive (well before Nash went out of the game) both scoring and facilitating. He looked nothing like a rookie in that game last night.

Those 6 turnovers looked something like a rookie in that game last night.

Which part of the game were you watching where you thought he looked out of his element? With the exception of the opening few plays in the 3rd and the last few minutes when the game was done, what did you see in his game that made you say that he needed seasoning? I didn't see anything telling me that but to each his own...

Easy. I'm not saying that he didn't have a great game. He was almost amazing last night in his rookie debut. I'm just acknowledging that he did have some rookie mistakes before he get anointed as the messiah of PGs just a little too early. I like Lillard.

Yea I see what you're saying Dash. I guess I was just trying to downplay the hype in case we didn't get him. Still, Harrison Barnes was highly touted as the next big thing in HS as well. 6'8 awesome handle, outside shot, athleticsim, etc. Still Barnes isn't as athletic as this kid. I would still like him to use his left more and display his passing ability. When Lebron was in highschool he was being compared to Magic Johnson, because of his size and handle and passing ability. He was also a champion. I guess I need to do some background research on this kid. Well here's hoping 2014 is kind to us!

Wiggins looks really nice... but I hate a highlight tape that doesn't have one single pass in it. when you're an athletic freak, you can dominate prep school nobodies and AAU fodder all day. One double team in college and if the kid can't make a pass he's nobody.

Make no mistake about it though... Wiggins, Shabazz, Jesus... none of these guys is going to be as good as Davis. They may be incredible basketball players, but they are all prototypes. 6'8-6'10 well rounded players... "The Next fill in the blank". And I would have them all on this team in a nanosecond and be happy to have them. But Davis isn't the "next" anything, he's different. Davis is a freak physically, athletically and is a great teammate to boot all while being crazy young. Davis would single handily make the Bobcats relevant, and we got screwed out of it.

I watched that game in its entirety the other night and it stung. He has to be accounted for on every possession. and meanwhile Diaw husslin his ass off just topped it all off and sent me into rage mode.
