Personally, I hope the Blazers don't make the playoffs anywhere in the near future. I want time to take as much protection off that pick as possible.
I watched the Portland v. L.A. game last night and to me the Blazers look like they could end up being a playoff team and should certainly not finish with one of the 12 worst records in the NBA. That means the Bobcats would have TWO 1st round picks.
That would be my dream!

yes, we get theirs too, But doubt if they make it
I agree with fan of a fan. I prefer the protection fall off of the pick and we land the #1 OA pick in a few years vs. a non lottery pick now.
Emma- I'm impressed that you know about the future picks we are owed after only recently joining the board.. Kudos ( and thanks for the pics![]()
I think Portland is only going to get better so while the protections may fall off I think that the pick will only get worse because they are only going to improve.

How many more role players do we need on this team?So at a glance you can see the first five picks tend towards stars and solid types with no complete busts. The 6-10 range show about 1/3 of the picks reaching star status, but lots of role players as well.
The mid first round (11-20) is much more a crap shoot with as many busts as stars.
Late first round (21-30) only 6% of picks become stars, and less than half even make it to role player caliber stats.
Sure the odds have us probably getting a lower pick, but we NEED stars. Portland may be better than originally thought but the west is still pretty damn strong. I'd much rather take the chance of a higher pick and getting an impact player.
