Default DJ glad to be out of Charlotte

Didn't bash us as much as I thought he would, but some interesting comments.

I'm glad he's happy, but like Swedd said the feeling is mutual

He'll always be my favorite Bobcats point guard, but I'm afraid his doubts won't go away as soon as he likes.

he was a decent player for the bobcats and had some great games for us, it was sad to see him leave but i think we needed to give Kemba the reigns at point guard.

I never really loved DJ, but I think he's right here. We never really gave him a fair shot.

agree with you mate, i think he was lost to be honest. He never knew what his job role was weather he was a starter or a bench player

    If we take DJ's comments:

"The whole time I was with the Bobcats I never knew where I stood"

"They didn't talk to me about anything. I guess that's how they do things"

"The fact was I was here for four years and the communication on what my role would be with the team was never set in stone."

... at face value then I think he is confirming what we all felt & feared, that the organisation lacked ... well organisation. That there was no consensus or clarity of thought and that the communication of that thought was poor. I'm a firm believer that you can not criticise someone for the way they've done something if you haven't thoroughly explained their role/responsibilities to them in advance.

If nothing else it appears that those days are firmly behind us. Cho clearly has a mandated blueprint and I can't imagine Dunlap sending his players out onto the court without a thoroughly thought-out and elucidated game plan for each individual within the team's overarching scheme.

DJs problem wasn't that the team didn't "give him his role" its that he never stepped up and played well enough to TAKE a role. His play flucuated nightly between legit starter and scrub. They wanted him to be a starting level PG obviously, because they gave him 2 years to start but he didn't play consistently enough to secure himself there.

He's right about one thing..he's definitely secure now. As an NBA backup for the rest of his career. Hope he feels better about that

i think Dunlap will communicate with each player on a daily basis telling them what there role in the team is and will likley be.
