My feelings: he's not on the team anymore. Hope he does well, except when he plays us. Peace out.

Most of what he could possibly say is fair. But his lack of security is something every player in the NBA (outside the top 25 or so) faces. He's not so special that he needs to be coddled, and if he'd played better, maybe he would've had more backing.

Some quotes from DJ after the game

"They look like a different team out there," said guard D.J. Augustin, who joined the Pacers this offseason as a free agent after four seasons with the Bobcats.
"They came at us with a full court trap and it kind of threw us off our game. They were very intense."

I'm sure Indiana will be a much better team than us this year, but I'm wondering if for a moment DJ had that feeling of changing lanes to the faster lane that abruptly halts and the other lane starts whizzing past.

I think he had to...like you say, just for a moment, but yeah, I definitely think so. Gotta wonder also about his confidence, shaky as it's always been, seeing Kemba, the guy we went with over him, go into beast mode and own that game while he struggled and ultimately missed that last shot.

Also like you, I wish him on ill will and I was even one of the few who applauded him at the arena when he was entered and didn't boo him. I ran into him twice and he always was classy and nice. BUT....there was an extra measure of sweetness that it was him that missed the final shot.
"The Charlotte Hornets name has been a mainstay throughout the region for many years, and we are excited to announce our intention to re-establish this historic brand. We believe that its return will galvanize our fan base by unifying our loyal Bobcats fans with those who have strong memories of our city's NBA predecessor." MJ, 5-21-13

same as with a lot of players, i get a little sentimental and wish the team had handled his situation better (honestly not drafting him would have probably been better for both parties), but then i remember that he makes millions of dollars to play a game he probably loves, one that he is better at than 99% of the people in the world, and i would gladly trade my problems for his. still best of luck to him, but I'm glad we handed his team a loss.
