Default Where the Bobcats can truly excel this season.

I think a great goal for this team is to finish in the top 5 in blocks and steals per game. Last night we had 10 and 9 (or 9 and 10?).

We have the roster and coach to do it.

i agree and with our pressure defense i think we can aim high for blocks and steals. Biyombo, Haywood and Mullens need to aim for 2 BPG, MKG i think we average over 1 BPG.

Top 5 in defense, but I'll settle for top 10.

On the surface, it sounds good, but it could potentially lead to a lot of bad habits. A lot of teams could gamble for the sake of block and steal stats, but that doesn't necessarily translate to good basketball.

I'd much rather be a top 5 team defensive team, though pace adjusted, as we're playing a faster game than a lot of other teams.

13 steals yesterday, including 5 for MKG

ironic post considering the defensive calamity that was on display last night

I doubt we end up in the top 10 of fewest points allowed but I could see us in the top 10 in forcing turnovers.

Obviously, this fullcourt press and zone stuff will only last so long and work only against a certain type of team in the long run. We won't be top anything aside from steals - and even then we'll still be giving up non-stop freebies so they won't even be "true" turnovers since we'll be giving up just as many free buckets.

Point taken. A good defensive FG% would be nice.

How about this?? Top 10 in defensive FG%, and top 10 in turnover differential(averaging less TO's than the other team)......A little more sound??

Dunlap needs to mix in more tradtitional man-to-man. These kids need to learn it. Let the press/zone/halfcourt pressure be a little less often and more of a surprise.
