I know it's early, but does anyone think we'll be making any trades by the deadline? Or will we keep what we got to come off the books at years end?
shit, the way he's been playing, trade that pick for james harden

Honestly, MKG is the only one that would surprise me, aside from getting a really great or really terrible deal.
SOMEONE will pay for THIS!
re. trades it is clear we need to improve our options in the front-court.
Diop's expiring could well be used; can't see how we can move TT without giving up too much; if there's a possibility for Carroll or Williams due the their expiring contracts then great. Maybe Hendo's best value could be in bringing in another player for us?
re. re-picking the draft ... we don't know what MKG can become. Plenty of players have improved their shots after entering the NBA. I think it'll take him a couple more off-seasons, but there's every chance he can get consistent, respectable range on his shot. With our 'plan' being to content for high draft picks rather than the 8th seed for the next season or two, MKG is exactly the type of player we should have drafted; one who has yet to scratch the surface of his true potential.
re. Lillard potentially being a top 5 PG ... with a respectable shot that defenders have to honour, could MKG not potentially become a top 5 SF who can also give you good small-ball minutes at PF?
If we couldn't move diaw's expiring contract, I think we will struggle to move diols. But I hope I'm wrong

I'm wondering more and more if the FO is planning on free space to sign free agents, which is why we don't have extensions for Mullens and Hendo. The intent appears to be to sell a star on the youngsters, a high draft pick, and future flexibility. If that's the case, I doubt they'll make a trade like that, unless perhaps they think FA season won't be kindly and change course.

there really aren't that many free agents this year or next that would come here. that excludes paul, howard, lebron, bosh, griffin who won't sign here no matter what is going on with our youngsters. i disagree, i think they are working through the draft and collecting additional picks and assets by keeping cap flexibility and offering relief and/or expirings to teams over the cap that are not in contention.
also, that deal could be reworked if they feel jefferson offers some value on the court. we could swap jefferson with biedrins and save them 3 mil this year (probably have to throw in another expiring maybe carroll) getting them under the cap and 9 mil next year.
