Building through the draft is what we've been thinking all along, but I'm surprised there wasn't an attempt to flip expirings for long salaries and draft picks. Granted, we did the Gordon trade this summer, but it just seems like the plan is to free up space for a possible run at an FA this summer.

I admit: I definitely could be reading too much into it. The plan should be build through the draft.
    SOMEONE will pay for THIS!

I think this Summer is too soon. Looks to me that they'll carry on this Summer as they did last ... trade a large expiring for a bad 2 year contract while picking up a 1st; draft high character / high motor / high potential guys etc.

They only stop doing this when there's a top flight player they can sign in free agency or trade for.

I just hope that this time next year we have a balanced roster: shooters, slashers, post players in both the starting 5 and on the bench while keeping up the intensity on defence.

Next year we will have either Shabazz, Nerlens Noel, or Zeller.. Or somebody might pop up out of no where and be a top 3 player. We still need a FRANCHISE player.. Every team has one, our team is terrible..

MKG was never drafted to be our star, I don't think MJ or Cho ever even thought that would be the case. However, after what was available at 2 I think mkg was a one of a kind player and we had a chance to get him. I think we're going to try and get our star via free agency. If we look at it, people love playing with mkg and Kemba, people respect those guys history (two championships) and their character (drive to win, ultimate teammates). Getting these kind of players will make us a more attractive destination for FA. To rely on the draft to get a star is silly as it literally is a lottery, we can't count on that so we must have another plan.

I agree. If we aren't lucky enough to draft Wiggins in 2014, then the only chance we'll have at a star is in free agency.

I would take MKG with out a doubt. He is the most talented prospect that has ever played for the bobcats. His on ball defense has been outstanding. His rebounding has been great. He gets steals and blocks. He had one bad shooting game that brings his numbers down a lot in a three game sample. Other then that his scoring has been fine.

Just saw that early in this NBA season the Bobcats are allowing the most rebounds (48.3) and points per opponets (110.7). I know they have a more defensive mentality and want to get out in transition, but man, that's a little depressing. As much as I'd like to see a shooter in here, I really think a dominant big is needed. If Nerlens Noel has a similar year to Davis at Kentucky, I can see the Cats pushing for him.

Dude is just as versatile as Davis too. Faster, a lot more athletic, can sort of create his own shot outside of the paint at this point of his career. Dude can keep up with SF's

the center from maryland worked noel last night. chad ford says if he keeps it up all year he will be a top 5 pick. true 7+ footer with decent offensive game.
