although i do agree with you, we can't forget that mkg is only 19 y/o. he will never be a good shooter, but there is still alot of time/room for growth.

You could put Henderson in a gym alone and he wouldnt be a good 3pt shooter (much less playing anyone in a real game).

You could have Carroll playing a high school team and he wouldnt all of a sudden have a sick handle.
Yeah but there have been plenty of leading scorer's in NCAA that come to the league and are terrible. LESTER HUDSON averaged 27 in college..Reggie williams was nice at VMI pretty sure he was averaging almost 30 ppg. Rodney Stuckey averaged 24 ppg at E WASH..

If you will notice scoring means little to me as a stand alone stat.

I tend to focus on skills and athleticism first.

Morrison and Reddick scored a ton of points

Both were unathletic one dimensional players.

Players absolutely can improve their shooting. Look at Jeff Taylor's 3 point % throughout his Vanderbilt career.

The beautiful thing is that MKG can be effective without being a good shooter anyway. It's not often that we draft a player with the length, athleticism, and strength to guard multiple positions. May, Morrison, and Augustin show that smooth shooting skill isn't everything.

Some day MKG will lock down Lillard on a crucial game-ending defensive stand.......

Stop dismissing Rodney Stuckey in your argument. He has size, skill, athleticism, and tore the college ranks up

No one can lock down elite scorers. Offensive players will always have the advantage in one on one situations.

As for Taylor, have you every heard of an "exception to the rule"? That is certainly not the norm.

You don't get it? The whole argument is:

-give me an example other than A.
    -example B given
-I disagree, give me an example other than A and B.
    -example C given
-you're wrong, give me an example other than A, B, and C.
    -repeat

Don't feed the self-centered troll guys

Even Gerald Henderson stopped Derrick Rose on a crucial final play a few years back. I was referring to a crucial game-ending defensive stand. Maybe you didn't read my post.

MKG is exceptional in so many ways. For one thing he could easily improve his form. He's 19. And he wasn't drafted to be a scorer anyway.

Anyone can stop anyone on any one given play.

Its not easy to change your form you have had for years.

Im sorry but I want the 2nd overall pick to be a capable scorer. Maybe thats asking to much.....

If MKG doesnt improve his shooting and scoring he is essentially a glorified glue guy.

Which every team needs, so not a complete wash.

the way MKG affects a game go far and beyond silly PPG, check the +/- stats for the last game. He's a 12ppg player as a rookie and scoring is his biggest weakness. thats how good he is.
