Not sure when PPG became a "silly" stat lmao

    12ppg? Try 7.5ppg

who cares about PPG when the team is dramatically better when he's on the court. He will be a 12 ppg player before the season is over dont get your panties in too big of a bunch after his first career game. draft decisions are made with more thought than hurr durr whos gonna average the most ppg for us RIGHT NOWWWWWWWWW

If you are a non factor on offense, you are doing your team a disservice on the offensive side of the ball. PPG should be an important factor for every player. The goal is to out score your opponents right? Everyone should care about PPG.

Panties are not in any bunch. MKG is what I thought he is. A great glue guy that every team needs. Just a bit uneasy about using a 2nd overall pick for a glorified glue guy. I can see MKG being a 15ppg player.

It's not every draft that you can select a 25 PPG player in the top 3. It's actually more rare than common. I'll take MKG being a 15 PPG as a successful draft pick as long as he averages at least 5 rebounds and 5 assist as well. The average 1st round #2 overall selection over the past two decades or so has been averaging just under 13 PPG for their careers. http://www.82games.com/nbadraftpicks.htm

You know scoring more points than the other team can be accomplished in more than one way right?

    2012--Miami (4th in opponent's PPG)
    2011--Dallas (10th)
    2010--Lakers (9th)
    2009--Lakers (13th)
    2008--Celtics (2nd)
    2007--Spurs (1st)
    2006--Miami (14th)
    2005--Spurs (1st)
    2004--Pistons (1st)
    2003--Spurs (3rd)

Seriously, please dash back over to the huddle.

If you see MKG averaging 15ppg then I don't get what the issue is? Just because he doesn't have a sweet stroke from outside doesn't mean he's a non factor on offense if he's averaging 15 per game. Our future max player is only averaging that now.

Crash was a one time all star and I'm convinced that if he'd had coaching earlier on like he did under LB he would have been a multi-year all star. He averaged arount that (actually pushed it to 18 the one year). MKG who I feel pretty good about being better than Crash (better handles/floor vision) is getting it now at 19.

Which is partly due to teams taking a lot of chances on players with "potential" that never pan out.

At the end of the day, the NBA Draft is a crapshoot whether you're drafting on size, potential, or production. Lillard has played out well so far for the Blazers, but I'd still think MKG will be a bigger difference maker for a contending team in the future. I wish I had the power to close this thread. It's not like "everyone missed on Lillard". He was the #6th overall pick for Christ's sake.

You should draft on every aspect (size, skills, athleticism, production, potential, ect). Which is what is so shocking as before the draft I pointed out Lillard was the most complete player in the draft. Can't believe something which was so obvious to me was missed by professionals.

Not sure why you think MKG will be a bigger difference maker than Lillard. Lillard is looking like a potential elite PG that can take over a game.
