i cringe to stick my head into this shitstorm but i think you guys are arguing different points.

spec: you are correct. some players are not alpha dogs ie aggressive leaders by nature even if they have the talent to do so. this is what makes players like boris diaw so frustrating. it is what lebron did not get until last year, he had it in him he just did not ever go into take over mode either through scoring or ball distribution.

dash: you are correct that players can moderate their aggressiveness during a game or even game to game. chris paul does it all the time. he is the alpha dog but spends most of the game setting guys up, establishing and getting the guys into the flow of the game. but come crunch time he gets much more aggressive with his shots and dictating what is happening. and if he senses the team doesn't have it that particular night, he takes over much earlier. but it is very rare that a player like dj can develop into a player like paul mentality-wise.

CP3 is elite and knows he is elite. Has way more skill than DJ, thus making him a vastly more confident player imo

Its hard to be aggressive when you know you dont have that ability, because the moment you as an unproven star go and start forcing things and missing, teammates, coaches, and fans will get pissed.

I think everyone can be more aggressive, the issue is if they go into aggressive mode how effective will they be.

You throw insults and slanders out way too much BTW. Unless you're intentionally looking for the reactions that you've been getting (which would indeed make you a troll and not worth anyone's time) it'd be nice if you were to tone it down some.

I don't think it's very valuable to go back and forth on how a guy is doing. Lillard seems like he can ball and that's great.

The point is that declaring that one guy is a bonafide better player than another a few games into their career, especially when one of them is 19 years old, is pretty dumb.

We're fortunate in that it looks like we've got a few more great players to watch in the league, and one of them is on our team.
    SOMEONE will pay for THIS!

Finished 2-13. And my point is what dnb said; too small of a sample size. We made the right pick whether you like it or not.

Doesnt take a large sample size to see and assess a guys skills and athleticism.

In any event, MKG will turn out to be a solid player. There is no question of that. Which I guess is better than drafting a bust.

Well I see the whole issue of saying that one player is decent out the gate and others take more aging.

I read just because they were good in college doesnt mean they are good in the nba, but yes while there are some busts, one of your examples was JJ Reddick. JJ's knock was that he sucked at D and he could only spot up and shoot. But while I am not per say an Orlando Magic Fan, I am an ACC fan, so I try and keep my eyes on guys like JJ, Pscyho T and all my WF boys as well as others.

I was just looking back at how last year and this year now they got rid of the D.Howard phenom and I think JJ may have a break out year now that the Offense will flow more through the team instead of just Howard. Kind of like how Psycho T has proven to be a really decent value to the Pacers.

Just looking at the stats of JJ over the first couple of games his stats are :

    14th in pts
    9th in 3's
    22nd in Assists
    12th in Efficiency
    31st in FG%
    120th in Turnovers.

I guess I mention the above just to say that you never really know what player your going to get. Lilliard is playing great now but he really has not played anyone to this point yet. Now does that mean he can not and will not play well against other teams> No. But should the whole world think the rook can come out game after game and do the same thing over and over night in and night out. NO

MKG has a skill set that will only get better over time, plus his scoring will come as well. But to say that we screwed up passing lilliard up and going with the intensity that MKG brings is a little far fetched and way to soon to say.

Lilliard is cold blooded shooter for sure, but the bobcats needed more than just points, we needed a Mental change. A spark. And while lilliard is filling up the stats sheet right now, over time i would place my bets on MKG.

Hard work pays off, as you see with JJ's stats from his rookie year to now, where he can still shoot ( was never a question) but now with a few years under his belt he plays better D, turns the ball over less, makes plays and WORKS HARD at Getting Better.

I like gym rats, regardless of their first couple of seasons. The Coach had a few whiners bitching about 3-4 hr gym sessions, those people need to go. I want guys that treat this shit like a job, and work hard to get themselves and want to make their teams better.
