Mullens will have some monster games this season, he just needs to get more open looks !
Mullens is just on a slump. Give him some time, Cats only played two games so far.

Shooters gotta shoot. Come what may.
Do agree he needs to look to mix it up more, but that could be our offensive sets as much as his looks.
SOMEONE will pay for THIS!
I've thought about this a lot. The fact of the matter is, if the coaching staff didn't want him taking threes, he wouldn't be. For now, they want him to take these shots, so if you want to blame anyone, blame the coaching staff. But yes, it is incredibly frustrating to see him hoisting up so many three pointers. The coaching staff should have him working on post moves and strength training nonstop if they have plans of him being our power forward going forward.
In Cho I Trust
He's never been a high % guy. He's a volume shooter and he takes bad, really bad shots. On a team that lacks offense that can be deadly.
I'm gonna channel my inner Swedd for this thread.
This thread is stupid.

Uhhh, did you watch Summer League?
Mullens has the range and can knock those down... He strikes me as a streaky shooter. He missed what, 7 in a row? Well, in summer league, when given an open look, he hit 7 in one game IIRC. He could do it just the same now, he's just got to get em to start dropping. Dunlap sees him in practice everyday and knows what he can do, if that wasn't in his skill set, he wouldn't be out there doing it. It WILL start dropping.
In all honesty, his skill set reminds me greatly of Dirk. Dirk may have slightly better handle and obviously has the non-stop attack mentality which Mully doesn't, but Mully is going to surprise a lot of people once he gets it all together. He came into the league young and raw and is just now starting to see what he can do with a coaching staff that believes in him. Just keep watching, you're going to like what you see.
Mullens started to hit last night when he mixed in a few mid-range shots to get some rhythm.
The other point to consider is if he doesn't take those shots who does?
Our offence is still bedding in at the moment and we're not creating that many easy shots. We want to avoid Kemba feeling he has no option but to take 15 shots a game (he can go for it when he's hot, but it shouldn't be the norm). Hendo appears to still be consistently inconsistent with his shot. It certainly isn't MKG's game & Haywood needs to patrol the boards.
Hopefully our offence will develop to the point where we're able to regularly move the ball for some easy buckets and continue to improve the pick and role. Until that happens Mully needs to shoot when he's open.
