If Kembas improvements are legit and he keeps developing this rebuild might be on a faster track than we thought. That'd mean we have 2 future allstars (Kemba+MKG) and a lot of cap space and a few good picks comin up...

then again, he could lose his midrange heat and relapse back to last year Kemba and we're in a bad spot. should be fun to follow

No logical argument to defend your position vs an opponent? No worries! Use a middle school-level personal attack.

My favorite player, loved him since UCONN. He has great potential, and can't wait to see him lead this team.

To those who argue you need a passing PG in order to be a contending team...I've done some research and please correct me if I am wrong (this is just according to yahoo sports - http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/stats/by...ar=season_2012). Kemba currently averages 5.1 assists through 7 games (small sample, I know). Now lets take a look at some of the past NBA champions of the league.

For the 2011-2012 season you have the Miami Heat
Mario Chalmers on the season averaged 3.5 assists

2010-2011 season you have the Dallas Mavericks
    Jason Kidd averaged 8.2 assists

2009-2010 season you have the Los Angeles Lakers
    Derek Fisher averaged 2.5 assists

2008-2009 season you have the Los Angeles Lakers
    Derek Fisher averaged 3.2 assists

2007-2008 season you have the Boston Celtics
    Rajon Rondo averaged 5.1 assists

2006-2007 season you have the San Antonio Spurs
    Tony Parker averaged 5.5 assists

2005-2006 season you have the Miami Heat
    Jason Williams averaged 4.9 assists

So where Kemba is at as of right now....only 2 PGs have beat him in assist numbers and gone onto win the championship over the past 7 years. Rajon Rondo is tied at 5.1....Point I am trying to make, is that Kemba's assist numbers are not that bad if you compare them to the teams that have gone onto win the finals. If we are to be a contending team one day, who is to say that Kemba can't lead us there? And if he is as clutch as he is, then I am all the more happy! I think that Kemba can be the future PG that we have been looking for. Time will only tell though.

so what you are saying is that if he isn't a pass first point guard (rondo or kidd and which you said kemba is not) and has a top 5 offensive player in the league and future hall of famer (lebron and wade, dirk, kobe, duncan, wade) then it is no problem winning a championship?

sounds like the majority of the examples you provided hinges much more on the hall of famer than the point guard. not a very kemba as the starting point guard in the championship friendly argument.

No. What I think he is trying to say is that people need to stop with the infatuation of thinking that a team need a '10 assist per game' PG in order to win a championship because modern preceding history proves that is not the case. Instead of quibbling with every Bobcats PG that isn't John Stockton or Chris Paul, we should be evaluating the SG that's not Dwyane Wade, the SF that's not LeBron James, the PF that's not Dirk Nowitzki, or the C that's not Tim Duncan as well.

i am struggling to recall who has said that kemba needs to get 10 assists per game for us to be successful.

I can picture Kemba being Tony Parker-esque with a little more flair. It's great that you pointed out that a PG doesn't have to be John Stockton or Chris Paul because neither of those guys have won a championship. Jason Kidd is probably the most playmaking PG to win a title over the past decade but I think it was his defense in that series that helped the Mavs conquer the feat.
