He has a great mid range jump shot and he's been a beast attacking the basket so far this season. If you add his defense to his offense we have a great NBA player !

Walker needs to continue doing what he is doing on the offensive side of the ball. Only attempt maybe 1 or 2 threes max a game and keep pulling up for that 15-17 footer. His confidence is thru the roof right now, and it shows.

I know it is only 9 games into the season. But right now, Kemba is #9 in scoring at 18.8, #30 in assists at 5.3 and #4 in steals at 2.6. He just needs to keep working on the assists, and maintain the other two areas. This young man is going to be a very solid PG for us in the future. Just let him do his thing and learn the NBA game.

I like seeing the higher stat #s but honestly I'm fine with him in the 5-6 range IF the other players are getting them too. That means good ball movement. Take last night:

    Kemba - 4
    Sessions - 4
    Taylor - 4
    MKG - 4

Get Mullens to pass out of the post more when he's double teamed and we're in business. That one assist he got was beautiful and ended up tying the game.

i was going to post a similar thought. this may be a surprise to some who feel i need kemba to be a cp3 pg to be effective, but i am fine with his assist numbers as they are. my main concern is his floor vision and anticipation of where players should/will be on both the defense and offense. he has improved but i need much better vision/management for me to be sold on him as a starting pg. either that or he was to avg 23-25 ppg per night as a true scoring pg.

Chef, keep in mind that this kid is only in his 2nd year in the NBA. And he was not the starter most of last season, as DJA was the starter. I think his numbers are terrific for his limited time as getting starter's minutes. I am sold on his being a starting PG for this team. I think when he reaches his peak, we are going to be thrilled he is a Bobcat.

My biggest question is how much of this improvement is due to our new Coach? Seeing how this team is playing, hustling and fighting illustrates a complete culture change in Charlotte. Many of us thought this was going to be due to MKG. I know the press talkied about it. But I am thinking it might have more to do with the Coach. I know I have seen MKG talk about how he loves the coaching staff on this team, and others as well. I tend to give the nod to the Coach.

Kemba will rack up more assists with better quality shooters/scorers around him. Heck, half our guys down low can't even catch the ball when he gets it to them. Remember, Kemba led ALL rookies and sophomores in assists in last year's Rising Stars Game.

Lillard is born (July 15th, 1990)
Kemba is born (May 8th, 1990)

    Lillard Stats: 19.0ppg 6.1apg 3.2rpg PER=18.81
    Kemba Stats: 18.8ppg 5.3apg 3.8rpg PER=20.36

Lillard is a mere TWO MONTHS younger than Kemba and their stats are nearly identical...Lillard's main advantage is he's 2 inches taller than Kemba...Why is it that we view Lillard as a starting PG and not Kemba? I don't care if one is rookie and the other is a sophomore...they are doing the same amount of damage on the court and they are the same age...

i think anyone who can say that they believe Lillard would be a future star should say the same thing about Kemba (who by the way, is a proven winner)

Lillard is taller, longer, and a much better shooter than Kemba (which all manifest into being a more efficient offensive player). Kemba is a little more athletic across the board and a better defender and probably a "better leader".

What helps Lillard in any argument against Kemba is that he's doing it as a rookie, while Kemba needed another year to reach that level. If Kemba had played like he's doing now, last year, then he'd be considered one of the up-and-comers as well (he actually seems to be getting some of that hype this year anyway). Lillard also doesn't have to fight through the Bobcat Taint effect.

All that really matters is that if Kemba continues to play at this level then we got our hands on a great young PG and it doesn't really matter how well Lillard does.
