Lillard is going to be good. Both him and Kemba are quality players. We didnt miss out on anything when we passed up on Lillard because we already had our quality starting PG on the squad. Kemba and MKG are a great combo because they both have that mental toughness to win. They will do what ever it takes to win. Thats going to speak volume for the future. Its going to be contagious.

I hate the fact that some posters here are making me dislike Lillard a bit due to there over infatuation with him having a good start to his rookie season in order to find a way to shoot down Kemba in the process. Reason why, because I like Lillard a lot, but at this point as a Bobcats fan I would much rather have Kemba, and I'm proud of what he's doing for our organization this year.

I dont understand why there is so much talk on this forum about our PG situation..ie..Kemba's play / Lillard and the whole trade Sessions thing...Having a quality PG is prob the most important thing u can have on a team trying to build from the ground up...and i think after so many years of trying to find the right guy ( Brandon knight / Jason Hart / Ray Felton / DJ Augustine) that we finally have found our guy / guys...

Kemba is developing into a really good PG..he is a very hard worker and i think he does want to be great , so im assuming that he will only continue to improve..just from last season to this season he has already improved his points per game average , his FG% , his shot selection and his turnovers ...aside from the last game vs the Bucks he has done a great job of protecting the ball

This is only his 2nd year and i think if he can continue to improve his fg% as well as develop a 3 point shot and also distributing thr ball a little better ( bring up his assists per game to around 7-8 a game ) that he can really be a star and a possible future all star

We also have Ramon Sessions who is only 26 years old and who is playing the best basketball of his career...he is somewhat of a local guy and i think him being back home and him being a part of an up and coming young team has him feeling really comfortable...i think he is very happy to be here and i think that shows in his play night in and night out..we are getting 35 points and 10 assists from the PG position between Kemba and Sessions...i dont think we could ask for much more from that position and i think after 8 or 9 years of trying that we have finally found our answer at PG...i think with time and experience that Kemba and Sessions can become one of the best PG tandems in the NBA..i agree that we need improvements on our team if we want to be serious contenders in the east but in my opinion PG is our strongest position and i dont think we need to tamper with it at all

Now all this talk about Lillard is justified bc the guy has been the best rookie so far this season...but none of the talk should be about us drafting Lillard or him being on this team...as i stated above we are set at PG...1st off no1 knew that Lillard was going to be anywhere near this good , so taking him at # 2 wasnt really an option at draft time ..2nd...we had no need for improvement at PG once we signed Sessions...im not sure any of us expected Sessions to play as good as he has or even Kemba to play this well...but they are and it doesnt need to be messed with right now...im confident the front office and the coach realize that we might have something special with those 2 guys and no moves will be made...

During the draft process we only had a cpl needs...of course the fans and im sure the front office was praying for that #1 pick so we could get Davis but that didnt happen and there werent many big men after Davis that were worthy of the 2nd pick....after realizing we wouldnt get Davis we then had to look at other spots on the team....after trading Maggette for Gordon and a pick we had a major hole at the SF spot..we really didnt even have a starter be4 the draft...lucky for MKG was sitting right there for the taking..so i think the pick was not only filling a major need but we were also getting a very good young player who could develop into a star...I am very happy with drafting MKG and no matter how good Lillard is playing right now i think that without a doubt we made the right move

bringing up Lillard is not about saying we should have drafted him...it's to say that if we are to look at production on the court...Lillard and Kemba have produced equally well...Like you, I believe Kemba can and should be our point guard of the future...

I guess I'm just super optimistic...I believe Kemba will be a star...I think Lillard will be a star...Davis, Barnes, MKG (and Waiters and Beal when they come around) will all be stars as well...

We made the right choice in picking Kemba and MKG...i regret none of those moves...

I will never understand how our fans get so bent out of shape any time somebody has praise for another player. Saying good things about Lillard does not marginalize Kemba in any way. If I say I think Lillard is having a better rookie season than Kemba did, that doesn't mean "OMGZ he hatez Kemba oh noes!"

The only thing I don't really understand is why people think we should of drafted Lillard instead of MKG. MKG fits our team better than Dame would b/c we've got Kemba already

It's not that we're getting bent out of shape for the reasons you're trying to imply, because if you were to state that Damian Lillard is having a good rookie season, I'm sure almost everyone would agree, but when you have to say that "Lillard is having a better rookie season than Kemba" then you are throwing unwarranted shade. Saying that Lillard is having a better rookie season than Kemba had serves no purpose of debate unless you are trying to belittle him. Guess what? Lillard is having a better rookie season than all-time great PG John Stockton too, but what is that saying?

ONCE AGAIN I REPEAT...I BROUGHT LILLARD NOT TO SAY WE SHOULD'VE DRAFTED HIM OVER MKG...I BROUGHT HIM UP TO SAY THAT HIM AND KEMBA ARE THE EXACT SAME AGE...THEY BOTH ARE PLAYING AT A SAME HIGH LEVEL...

It's not a knock on either one...Posters like Swedd believe that the fact that he didn't have to adjust to the NBA game and Kemba took a year to get it shows that he has a higher ceiling...

He brings up these intrinsic traits that we, as fans, have no way of knowing...such as work ethic and natural talent...We only see what they do on the court...And accept what experts tell us is truth...In the end, they are both the same age and are producing the same stats...DONT WANT TO BE CALLED A NERD, BUT I'LL RELY ON WHAT I LEARNED IN CALC III...The theory known as Path Independence is at work here...It's not about what path lines take to get to a point, it's that they both got there at the same time...

Kemba took one year (his 4th year after high school) to get to this level...
Lillard was not highly recruited (I ask myself why) but worked his way past a foot injury in his junior year to get to here...

From the two examples, Neither one had the Derrick Rose, Kobe, Lebron, Durant talent to just breeze in from the age of 19 into the league...

This is not a matter of us getting upset that Lillard is getting praised...It's the fact that I believe it's too much emphasis is put on "someone being a rookie"...When I asked you if the "stats" MKG puts up now would be as impressive if he was putting up the same "stats" as a 25-26 year old rookie...you diverted and said MKG's work ethic and talent would mean he would be better if he stayed one more year...But that was not my question at all...We aren't mainly impressed with the way a young player works hard...We get impressed when what they produce on the court is exceptional for their young age...I was battling the statement that "because he's a rookie his stats were impressive"...I would rephrase that and say, "because of his young age, his stats are that much more impressive"...and 22 is still young so Idk why you brought in MJ...

having a great season so far and looking like the real deal on both ends of the court. I'm impressed with his defense in particular his foot movement when closing down the oppositiuon point guard.
