Give dunlap a chance to teach the guys we have. Look at the difference we have seen in our young guys in just 5 games. I may be more optimistic than others. But seriously. The reason why the bobcats drafts havent panned out they haven't had a real teacher. Name one coach we've had that has honestly put focus on development. Kemba is jumping of the radar right now and growing every game. MKG is growing every game. Mullens is a world of better this year on the boards and on his defense. The problem is that everyone wants a quick fix. Quick to writing off what we have. If this team continues to grow and learn and get better at the pace they are now. You could honestly be looking at the number 8 seed in the east. Ok I already know whats going to be said next. Why do we want to be an 8 seed just to be knocked out the first round. Answer!!! To get some dang excitement in Charlotte about a team. If we make the playoffs this year with as young as we are. All you will hear is how great Cho has been developing these young guys. Putting the right coach in place to teach! Then they will be calling this the next okc. Oh and then what.... people will want to play in charlotte!!!!! have you ever considered this outcome. Or lets just keep swinging at the fences to see if we can land a player that comes once every 10 yrs!!! LOL
So I guess you would rather be in the situation when we had Wallace and we made it 8th seed? lmao...Hell no
I'd rather be in this situation we have now then be a team like the Bucks again.

Like clockwork, the tanking debate always starts up every year with the Bobcats. Although it seems earlier this year than normal. Kinda funny, and sad at the same time.

Honestly, I don't know why anyone would worry about winning too many games. For one, this team as currently constructed has too many weaknesses, too many flaws that other teams can exploit for them to be very successful. Can we be competitive? Hell yeah, we have a few scrappers that will compete to the death. But to consistently close out games, you need to have reliable offense, and since our best scorers are streaky guards, combined with no good offensive post players, we won't be able to keep up with veteran teams on a night to night basis.

But secondly, why even waste time with these thoughts? Being a fan of Charlotte sports teams has been painful the past few years. Between the Panthers and Bobcats, we probably have a 15% winning percentage in this city. I'm a very competitive person and I absolutely hate losing, so constantly getting punched in the gut by my two favorite teams is not a pleasant experience.

So anytime I can get enjoyment out of a win, I relish the excitement for all its worth. Beating the Mavs put me in a great mood over the weekend - why ruin that by thinking how it will hurt our draft positioning? Thats something that is completely out of our control as fans anyway.

So I say, live in the moment, enjoy the rare wins when you can, and worry about the draft positioning at the end of the year when it matters. Besides, we'll be in top 5 range at the end of the year, so you're free to get excited about our wins, and can feel good that we'll still have a shot at your favorite savior at the next draft

Agree, but question is, are you trading just to stay out of contention at that point?

This is how teams screw up, trying to push for the playoffs and stuff when they know they don't have the talent to make it 2nd round and end up NOT getting a good pick and just stay being a OKAY team and NEVER get better and end up losing there talent..

Everybody go look at the Bucks, Hawks, and teams like that.

We should want to be in a situation like the Kings, Wizards, Hornets, Warriors.

Every rebuilding team should want to be in a situation like the KINGS.. A ton of potential on the squad (they have attitude problems but you guys are getting were i'm going) and they are only going to get better.

The Hawks are the perfect example..Look 3-4 years ago they had a lot of potential, now look. They we're in a situation like us where there BEST player was not an ELITE player that can lead there team. Don't get me wrong I love Gerald Wallace but we needed to get rid of him, who the heck were we going to beat in the playoffs with our best player being GERALD WALLACE?

If we get top 5 picks for the next 2 years THEN we will be OOZING with potential and we could set our sights on being a young team and trying to actually be a decent team and maybe go for a playoff run..

    Preach.

I don't want to be like the Raptors. That's my worst nightmare as a sports fan.

Also, you don't have to trade anyone away to tank. Just shut guys down with "injuries" so they can take the last month or two off for the season.

They do because of the (lack of) taxes.

Their FO is just full of short-sighted, homer idiots.
