Guess what picks landed the Spurs Robinson and Duncan.
The number ONE overall pick!
Had they been a competitive team that made the playoffs they would not have got those players and would not have won all those titles.
I assumed that was implied in the "imo"
Obviously MKG is not a superstar impact player right NOW, just like Durant and LeBron weren't as rookies either.
Best case is Iggy. That ought to tell you something. Iggy is a solid player but he damn sure inst some center piece or superstar.
What you mean says who? Common sense says who.
Lebron - just a freak athlete with great passing skills, and ballhandling
Durant - ridiculous frame to grow into. great shooter / scorer.
MKG isnt close to anything like that.
Kevin Loves best case is listed as David West. Now he averages 26/14. I could go on
I continue to roll my eyes at people who think MKG has a low ceiling when his per 36/s and PER already rival the best seasons of prime Gerald Wallace and Andre Iguodala, let alone their rookie years. Time to move on from crappy comparisons
I think it's wrong to limit MKG's ceiling to that of Andre Iguodala. MKG is only 19 years old with plenty of room to grow physically and mentally in this game of basketball and I would much rather have him over Iguodala on my team right now.
Couple of points I want to make: Dash you seem hell bent on the tank job and superstar, which is cool, we all have opinions. But like some other guys have said, maybe we are developing a superstar and don't even know it? Nothing is a sure thing man, and just because trends say certain things doesn't necessarily mean we can't be the exception to the rule.
Second point, it all seems like we want to put our faith in unknown quantities instead of known quantities. A high draft pick to me is just another chance to screw ourselves again. Yes Rich Cho is great, but what if we get a Greg Oden? Or we have a guy like Evan Turner who doesn't develop quickly as the #2 pick? What do you tell season ticket holders and the fanbase then?
Most people are not like us on here, and all they care about is seeing the team win. The city is getting behind the team now, and if we were sucking again the only happy ones would be you guys that want a Top 3 pick. And Jordan I'm sure is very happy right now because he's not spending a ton on salary, they've had increased ticket sales, a better revenue sharing plan, and the team is winning ahead of schedule. No way he's going to screw with anything as long as this continues.
