Ill tell, they wouldnt be a title contender.

Its simple, you need to blow things up and build through the draft if you are not a high market team. And might I add pray to get Lucky.

Its about winning the chip, plain and simple. Screw going to the playoffs every year only to lose to a team full of super stars.
I agree with all that. My hope for this season is that Charlotte still loses a ton of games but they play everybody tough and raise some eyebrows around the league as an up and comer.

I hope we get that superstar player just as much as anybody. But it takes a different type of guy to be that superstar and stay in a small market longterm.

Kemba and mkg have bought into that apparently and maybe if we can land that superstar after we have a solid foundation they'll be more likely to stick around

maybe so ...but it doesnt mean that we have to folow suit...they got Harden and Westbrrok bc they had zero talent and they sucked and got lucky in the lottery...OKC is the exception and not the rule....i think we are very capable of doing it our way

We already have gone from the worst team in NBA history to a pretty damn good team who could win anywhere from 25-40 games....if we can improve that much in 1 offseason....just think what Cho can do with another cpl offseason where we will have multiple picks and plenty of $$ to spend on a big time free agent....and this class of unrestricted guys is impressive...especially @ our weakness...PF and Center..

Say POrtland make the playoffs this year and we end up winning 30 games....we get Portlands pick which will be between 14-20 and then our pick which can be anywhere from 1 to prob 8 or 9 ...says its the 6th pick and Portlands is 16...we can very easily package those 2 picks and move up to grab whoever it is that u want....even tho i think this draft is very weak

We need a top 3-5 pick this year. Hell, I think we need a top 2 pick (Zeller and Shabaz).

We need to trade Sessions or something for a nice deal. Winning is ok, but winning meaninglessness games now will only hurt us in the future.
not to be debbie downer because i am enjoying the way the team plays, but i am not overly worried about winning too many games. look at our wins pacers (disappointing and banged up), wiz (winless and banged up), mavs (way banged up), minn (way banged up) and bucks (quality win but i suspect the team is overplaying and will regress).

that is 1 quality win and 4 advantageous wins. the difference between last year and this year is we are taking advantage of teams where last year we weren't. i predict we end somewhere between 5 and 8 in the lottery ball drawing.

    MKG is our Durant

    Kemba is our Westbrook

Mullens is our 3rd option scorer a la Kevin Martin.

    Biz is our Ibaka

Taylor and Henderson can be elite role players

It might sound stupid after worst team ever blah blah but Dunlap is already dramatically improving those guys. They can all be allstars with the right development.

Plus, this draft sucks anyway. The positive development that comes from winning is more valuable than picking up some tweener like James McAdoo and having another crappy year sitting on all our players psyches

Cat ..while i like your thinking i must admit that its a bit of a stretch to make those comparisons....@ Chef...while i agreeythat we havent beat the best teams in the NBA...we dont make our schedule....and those games are the 1s we had to play and we won....its alot more then we could say last year....we have lost prob every 1 of those games except maybe 1....and whats even more impressive...is the fact that we cam back frtom double digits to beat Dallas and the Bucks....and came back from double digits to turn a blowout vs the Grizz into a very close game at the end that we couyld have won....

without a doubt we lose those games last year and prob get blown out

Its a stretch at the moment because they are still developing and those guys already have. It wont be a stretch when we're a 50 win team

Our players do not even compare to theirs. Im sorry. MKG will never be a Durant.

I like Kemba though and think he can be one of the best pgs in the league down the road.

This draft will not suck. It has Zeller, Shabazz, and Purvis, and a dude that is gonna blow up by the name of Marcus Smart.

MKG will impact games defensively like Durant does offensively while being a 20ppg player.

and yes, this draft sucks hard. Zeller, Shabazz, Noel, McAdoo, Gobert is a mediocre as hell draft class

This shouldn't even be a discussion. No one is ever happy...when we tank and blow up the team? Everyone's made because we tank and suck harder than anyone ever to try for that #1 pick. That only worked out half way because we got #2(Which is still good I love MKG).

Now we've added talent and HAVE A WINNING RECORD...and people are mad. Just enjoy it. At least we aren't 0-10 or something, watching another WOAT team.

Ideally I would prefer that we win games and have assets and cap space to trade for future draft picks (Cho's apparent plan) than be a loser that's trading picks for mediocre assets (Bobcats pre-Cho).

    Lets win some games.
