I'll add this though; other than Mullens and TT we don't have much at PF. Warrick gives us a 3rd body in the event one of the others can't go.

Could be that's all this is.

Here's a thought. It is obvious the impact coach Dunlap has had on several players on our team at this early stage in the season so would it not be possible that should Warrick have the right attitude and buys in that he ends up better than we expect? It may be that he needs a teacher as much as a coach. As of now this trade does not appear to be a real risk so let's take it with a grain of salt.

I have a feeling that as the season goes on our team will only get better and players like TT may even start performing above expectations. The efforts of some teammates can rub off on those who are not motivated for whatever reason. Time will tell who buys in and who does not.

I love it... Matt wasn't going to play anyway. I loved Warrick's game coming out of 'Cuse, but he's been mediocre in the pros... Still, he CAN play whereas Matt wasn't going to. Awesome move just for that... And another thing to consider... Those saying he doesn't play defense and is offense is limited, I don't think Dunlap is worried about that. I think we got him because this system can bring the best out of him. He gets to play uptempo and run the floor, which is where he excelled back at 'Cuse. It will hide a lot of deficiencies. Really good move.

We have backcourt depth, whereas we don't have frontcourt depth. Now we do, sort of.

Look, there's going to be nights where Mullens is 0-9 from 3, Tyrus is 0-9 from the wing, and we'll need Warrick to go 1-9 from where ever he shoots.

Our greatest depth was at SG, our least at the forward positions.

We've shipped out someone who will not feature for us this season for someone who will and haven't adversely affected our cap moving forward (unless we choose to take-up Warrick's option).

The trade is a positive, sensible move.

I think Carroll is a respected guy in the organization and they wouldn't dump him (and pay 500k more in the process) just to flip 4th stringers with the Hornets. I hope Tyrus is on the move. Assuming we don't have to pay out the ass to move him

I think its a good trade. This trade removes a player who basically gets paid for nothing and addresses a need at the 4 and gives the Cats a possible trade piece. Also,Warrick still has trade value.. he can be packaged up in a future deal. But he does have the speed and athleticism that Dunlap likes in his system so.. lets give him a chance..far more valuable than Matt. And if it doesnt work out, they can cut ties with him at seasons end with no losses. Cho made a safe trade that helps the Cats either way

    I 2nd that Scrapper.

Who's more valuable as a throw in player in a trade? An expiring big who can give you some minutes, or an expiring Matt Carroll who can give you nothing?

Dudes ceiling is not high at all. He's like 29 how much more can he prove if he hasn't already? Dude is supposed to be better than he is.. If anyone watched Melo in college Warrick used to dunk a lot. I like Warrick thought, he's average

Per ESPN -Most overrated, underrated players

Hakim Warrick | PF | New Orleans Hornets

Warrick is the undisputed champion of overrated players, putting up a brutal minus-6.8 career mark (only Ron Mercer's minus-7.7 was worse among those with 6,000 minutes played from 2001-12). Warrick averaged 11-12 PPG during his heyday, before coaches figured out that he was costing them dearly at the other end of the floor. And the real surprise is that Warrick's Regularized Plus/Minus on offense was even worse than his defensive rate, the product of poor floor-spacing and rarely passing the ball.
Again, Regularized Adjusted Plus/Minus is far from an infallible metric, but if a player is showing up far from the league average (in either direction), or has a rating well out of step with his conventional reputation, it probably means you should take a closer look at his game to see if the common perception is inaccurate.
